Hey, guys. Got a wild one for ya this time: T2 Bibarel

Of course it's not going to work, right? Wrong. Bibarel can be a beast with the right list, and I plan to show that here. Naturally, it's not a top-tier deck, but I'd at least like to show that it can stand up to some of the best decks in the format, and beat many others. I want to stress that it's no G&G or Kingdol, but it's good for what it is and probably the best T2 deck out there. So, without further ado, it's T2 Bibarel!

T2 Bibarel

Pokémon (8)

4x Bibarel SF
4x Bidoof SF

Trainers/Stadiums/Supporters (42)

4x Roseanne's Research
4x Bebe's Search
4x P.O.V.
2x Cynthia's Feelings
4x Quick Ball
4x Great Ball
2x Luxury Ball
4x PokéDrawer+
1x Night Maintenance
2x Warp Point
2x Super Scoop Up
4x PlusPower
3x TM TS-1
2x TM TS-2

Energies (10)

10x Water Energy

Strategy

The strategy is the same as any T2 deck; get out a Bibarel ASAP and start donking. Differences between this and other T2 decks are few and far between. The trainer line is designed for maximum power and technique with Bibarel's strengths, so it may differ slightly from other T2 decks, but the core of the deck remains the same. For instance, the SSUs are in the deck because Bibarel has high HP for a stage one and only needs two energies to attack; scoop one up and you can have it ready again within two turns. If there are any questions about the trainer line, please post and I'll answer them to the best of my ability.

Matchups

Kingdra - Get a T2 Bibarel and donk their starter. Then it's tough for them to recover. If they outspeed you, you lose, but if you outspeed them, you have a shot.

AMU - Not played much, but it's pretty even.

Quickitune - Another T2 deck. You have more consistent damage, an easier setup, and more HP. No contest.

Machamp - A threat, since the release of SF. I haven't seen the 'Champ in action, but I can predict that Bibarel would do well. They have a considerably slower setup, but if they get a Machamp Lv.X out within the first couple turns, it'll be tough.

Gengar/Dusknoir - Tough to say. I'd say the match is tough to begin with simply due to the fact that losing a basic or two at the beginning of the game doesn't hurt them that much. Impossible to win if they get a Gengar out.

T-Tar - It really depends on the variant. Losing a Sneasel, Baltoy, or Larvitar at the beginning hurts T-Tar, but if they get a Tyranitar out it's game over. T-Tar can OHKO you and has a tremendous amount of HP.

Torterrible - Tough. Very tough.

Eeveelutions - Depends how many Eevees you can donk at the beginning. Call for Family makes this a tough matchup.

Any fire deck - Not at all difficult, due to your ability to unconditionally donk their starter.

Any decks I'm missing? LMK.

Please post questions and comments!

i'm sorry, but this is not the best t2 deck out there! unless u proves it with match-ups against other T2 decks ;otherwise, i disagreed. I would like to see it dual out against T2 scizor.

yes, u can stop 'pound down', but that's still not enough to stop it.

there's also T2 starmie, lopunny, lucaio...

Bibarel is hands down better than Starmie, Lopunny, or Lucario. No contest.

As for Scizor, I still think Bibarel is superior. Obviously, if they played eachother, Scizor would win hands down, but as for how each would fare in the metagame in general, I think Bibarel would do best, with the Unown G body.

Even if not, Bibarel is just a cheap deck that a newer player can build that is actually a good deck, and could teach them some stuff about becoming a better player.

sounds like abias remark( to me).any matchups?

of course this is vary in terms of listing and how well u know the metagame. can also be said with any T2 "with unown G".

no aguement about it, here.but honestly, how much is four rares.

all in all, i still think scizor's one step above bibarel as a T2 pokemons. in terms of speed, max damages, and an all rounded pokemon at this point( for the metagame).

we can break it down between Bibarel and Scizor against others matchups and u'll see what i mean. or we can just wait till after CC, and see how well they do against others.

You need to change your trainer line. I would do this:

+1 Cynthia's Feelings
+1 Night Maintenance
-4 PlusPower
+4 Buck's Training
-2 TM TS-2

Without the Bucks's Training and the other Cynthia's Feelings you only have 2 draw cards.

Also, change your matchups. Quicketune should be taken out as no-one really plays it any more. Machamp can easily 1HKO Bibarel so I would make this a harder matchup. Bibarel has Machamp's weakness. You also describe Machamp as slow, but my version almost always get a Machamp out T2. Gengar is also a huge threat, because it too can be out T2 and with the number of trainers in your deck, it's basically an autoloss if they get one out.

YES I love t2 bidoof the deck is very consistint and eats its way through the enemy great job poli

One thing I would do

-1tm DEVO
+ 1 chatot

That matchup is completely wrong. Any good Machamp will destroy bibarel. I dont know how or why you think turn 1 Machamp is a SLOWER setup.(FYI the deck is made to get turn 1)

SO let me tell you a story . a friend got a 5-5 or a 6-6 of bidoof/ biberal in a draft i played in and it was me and him in the top two .. I had 6-4-3 mamoswine :\ and I won it but it was a tough match lol

As requested, here are the...

Reasons why Bibarel is better than other T2 decks!

T2 Blissey - Bibarel is faster and deals more damage T2. Better chance of a donk.

Quickitune - Too inconsistent and weak in the current metagame.

T2 Scizor - Tough to say. I'd say Bibarel's Amnesia is a major asset, but Scizor can hit for more damage T2. It's a toss-up and open for discussion.

T2 Starmie - Are you kidding me? I've never even heard of this...

Any major T2 decks I'm missing?

Diamond and Pearl Bidoof > Stormfront Bidoof,

it knows Amnesia and it can get Pokedrawers back into your hand so you can reuse them it also has 1 less retreat cost.

You could also try

-4 Great Ball
+4 Call Energy

Maybe add another Night Maintenance or TSD maybe-- :?

You could also try Wager over Cynthia's.... and one of them Pixies (LA) to replenish your hand.

um....*sigh*
T2 Bibarel is NOT a good deck.
Its probably one of the most interesting cards in the set, but when you play it for the first time you will realize how bad it is.

Just want to say that in no way SHAPE OR FORM can you claim this deck as your own. Bibarrel has been loved by many since translations have come out. It is amazing against Gengar, and should beat it with ease!! If you cannot beat it with this deck, then your build is to inconsistent. Not to sound mean, but Bibarrel is amazing!!!!
