I find it odd that I've seen next to no hype about this card.
I find it to be one of the most broken cards in LA. Is there something I'm missing?

But TM TS-1 turns any pokemon into a phione. AND also gives that pokemon ascension.
all for the cost of NO energy.
What can Phione do that's better than that?

Not only that, but TS-1 can not be used on turn 1 if you go first. However, I have found it to be very successful for me because it doesn't require its own bench space, and I can run four of them comfortably without having to worry about my deck being riddled with dead draws all game. I can just lay them down as they come on some Pokemon, and it is taken care of.

Phione takes up bench space that would be better used by another Claydol, a tech, or your main evo line. TS-1 is easily splashable into any deck and can be attached to any pokemon.

It's a good replacement to phione if you are using it as your starter but if you are using phione as a tech then a teched phione is a lot better than a teched tm

Maybe it's because the TM MUST be DISCARDED at the end of the turn?
So, you get one shot vs. Phione's evolve to the death capacity

^ Are you sure about that? If that's true, I have a bit of editing to do on my deck...

We are still awaiting official word from POP/PUI, however the Rule in the Rulebook seems to be a direct copy/paste from the EX TM's that were discarded while the new one are not discarded.

i dont see the tm-1 vs jirachi argument as relevent at all. to me the question is tm-1 vs rare candy.
i have heard nothing about tms being discarded at the end of turn. i wouldn't rely on an old ruling either. by the old rules you had to flip a coin in order to attack a baby pokemon too...

That was the ruling at our end-of-season tourney. So, I'm going w/ it until another ruling overrides.

Unless your TO is a member of Team Compendium or POP or another person who is qualified to make official rulings I would not go with it.

Nowhere on the card does it say you have to discard it at the end of your turn or after you use its effect. That is why I am positive that it does not have to be discarded. There was no major mistranslation, so the card has to be ruled as it is written.

This will not be settled until we get a ruling ... but page 9 of the new rulebook indicates no discard.

*yawn* - here we go. Arguing when there's no need. The confusion comes from the GLOSSARY of the new rulebook vs. page 9. The SAME rulebook says "stays in play" AND "discarded at end of turn."

So, we'll wait it out and see what the Compendium says. I THINK if we look at ask the masters, the question may already be asked?

But, really. I was just giving the dude a heads-up. Nobody needs to get all high-and-mighty like "I know better than you" type stuff.... *tssss*
