****The Lone Star~State Championship****


The "Texas~State Championship" will be held at "JJK Cards" in Richardson, Texas on March 11, 2006. :cool:

Well at least it isn't in Houston like last year, but that didn't stop us from going last year. So you can count on me, my dad, and maybe a few others like Jordan, Kevin, Devin,Brad and many others from OK.

Well, just compare the SC two years ago with the one one year ago:::

Both had great attendance; the one back in 2004 (in DFW) took a great record (4-1) to even make the top cut, proving the competition and attendance's strength there. The 2005 one (in Houston) had a top 16 cut, also proof of the great attendance/skill for this one.

However, I think that DFW was chosen for a few reasons:

-First and foremost, many of the serious Houston players will come up to attend.
-This will not only attract some of the big Houston crowd, but also some of the big Oklahoma crowd, as well.
-MP Birch's lidless eye tower is DFW, so it makes sense for him to do it here. :D

I'm assuming that Patriarch's 'lidless eye tower' is a reference to the Illuminati, of which is the subject of another one of Robert Anton Wilson's trilogies.

If you ever get the chance to read the works of Robert Anton Wilson, I'd suggest you go for the hot fireplace poker in the eye, instead.

[EDIT] Of course, now that I think about it, wasn't the 'lidless eye tower' also a reference to Sauraman from Tolkein's 'Lord of the Rings'? Or am I getting my literary references all kafuffled?

Sorry Patriarch, it all sounds good, but you're wrong on some points, lol.

The reason State is being held in Dallas is because the Houston and Dallas areas are splitting States and Regionals... Can't have them both in one area! Both areas have a great representation of players, so this is all good....

And yes, the best players from the Houston area will show up in Dallas for States. Even our 10 and unders will make the trip. So prepare yourself for the invasion.

I requested Regionals because the Houston area has never had Regionals but has had a State tournament.
