That voice in your head

It depends on what I'm reading. Typically it's a little version of me like those devil/angels on people shoulders. He's a little guy in a reading robe and slippers with reading glasses. When I'm reading a story like a novel I hear character voices the way I perceive the characters to be, with narration provided by the little version of me again. Letters and e-mails from people I know read in their voices.

Right- your voice echoes through your head and thus sounds different than what everyone else hears. Of course, I'm used to hearing my voice played back for me.
In any case, I also hear myself as I sound to myself when I talk.

The voice(s) depend on what I'm reading. If it's a book with multiple characters I create a seperate voice for each person. I visualize in my mind -- much like a movie -- what is going on in the story; voices, visuals, etc. I basically recreate the story as I think it is. If it's just something like a message board, IRC and whatnot, it's usually my own voice.

Whenever I read a book, each character has a different voice. Both the narration and the main male character have my voice. The main female character either has the voice of Veronica Taylor if it is an adult or Rachael Lillis if it is a child. The secondary male characters are played by David Moo, Addie Blaustien, and Eric Stewart. Needless to say, I have an all-star cast for every book I read.

I'm one of these people that does a lot of characters out loud, thereby sometimes I hear Captain Jack Sparrow, other times Mickey Mouse.

The voices in my head are talking in Japaness. And there always saying "Pick up the sword Joe, Pick it up!" or am I saying that?(The Fish King is lieing, he hears a guy who talks l33t and has pink hair)
normally when i read a book it sounds like someone totally different from my voice. As fawkes said, i do alot of acting and characters outloud(im an actress) but normally (-.-) when im reading a book, sometimes when i read it could be The Joker from batman, or yoshi(does impression of yoshi talking english...weird huh?) or sometimes its my own voice or the voice of what i think the narrator/character sounds like, the same with games that dont have the characters talk, i look/imagine what they look like and then i put a voice suitable for them

Oddly enough, depending on the personality of the character I'm reading, I can usually tie it to a character of an anime I watch frequently. Like one character I was reading I started to hear Yami's voice as the character. Try to imagine that: Yami as Legolas from LotR...gahh, fresh from the mind of a deranged fan-girl.

Actually, I hear my own voice, but not the voice I hear when I speak. My Thought-Voice is used for just about everything, even when I'm remembering what other people said.
Unless there was something particular about how they said it, and I remember their accent, then their words will be replayed to me in my Thought-Voice.

I usually scream in a high-pitched monotone voice whenever I read, mainly so I don'y get confused. Annoying everyone in a 30 foot radius from me is just a bonus.
Seriously, tho, if I'm reading something, I'll hear a voice that sounds kind of like my own, but a lot of times I like to pretend a different person is reading. Like, if I'm reading Go Dog, Go! I'll pretend Barry White is reading it. When I was reading The Fellowship of the Ring, Meowth was narrating it. And now whilst I'm reading The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy, I hear Lister from Red Dwarf talking. Or Kryten and Rimmer.
My mind is a strange and/or fascinating place, if you're me...

As a perfectly normal person, when I'm reading I tend to give the characters a suitable voice, depending on their personalities. However, the narrator... I've come to the conclusion that that's Rincewind from the Discworld books. Don't ask me how he got stuck in my head, but I can't get rid of him.
