Well, I guess we'll have to be there.

Ivan we will work together for regionals, you can be the third Asian in the multicultural car pool we have in South West Houston
I am kinda glad I don't have Asian parents sometimes :p ASIANS FTW!

Oh man, it looks like a rematch from last year! SO pumped for this tourney!! Unfortunately, North Carolina is the same day , so we probably will only get to see the Silvestros, but hey, gotta represent :D

I'm aiming for my third trophy this year...but hopefully, it'll end up being a bigger one than '05 or '06 :thumb:

Victory!

man I can't really remember what I played at last years regionals.... but hopefully i'll go 7-0 again in swiss.... and do better in T8. anyways hopefully I won't have to work ! ttyl deuce !

Looking at it like this,

This thread is already 3 pages long AND I still haven't made any formal announcements about the tournament tells me we will have a good turn out.

I'm really excited for all our players and just seeing the response on PokeGym makes me want to work even harder for you.

I promise a GREAT and FUN Regionals.

Man I can't wait for regionals since I will be judging at states. Please say it we be at the Pizza place for all you can eat buffet. I'll need to drown my sorrows some how.

Sorry Jose, not at the pizza place, not enough room.

I've seen the way you've been playing in Cities, you should've already hit the buffet to drown your sorrows, back in November. Bahahahahahahahaha:lol:

Just to let everyone know where we stand right now.

I actually have a location and hotel secured for this event in Conroe, Texas (north of The Woodlands) however, a second option came up at the last minute so I'm checking it out.

Whatever happens, April 21 is a done deal.

Enjoy your local Prereleases and hopefully afterwards, I'll have everything ready for you.

Funny YOU bring this up AGAIN. We did some searching around on PokeGym for fun and found a post from YOU when the tournament was in Arlington. And you know what? YOU were complaining about that drive as well.

While I'm here, I'll go ahead and tell everyone that Regionals will be held in Conroe, Texas or The Woodlands, Texas.

See ya there Whicker. Oh, and wear that pink hat again, it was cool.

No one wants to drive three hours, Cook, so my complaint was somewhat valid. I believe you forgot to factor in the fact that this post was probably made BEFORE REGIONALS WAS MOVED TO HOUSTON, therefore making it unusable in any argument against me if we ever discuss this.

But in all seriousness, my stance is the same last year because all of my arguments were, in fact, made stronger due to last year's results. I don't know the exact numbers, but I remember a vast majority of Oklahomans making the trip to Arlington two years ago. However, last year we had what, three? It is such an obvious fact that the location is discounting the Oklahomans, which are (suprise suprise) a part of the Southern Plains Region. Maybe you have forgotten? I find it difficult to believe that you "care so much about all the players" when you disclude us. That's like having three children named Houston, Dallas, and Oklahoma and saying "I love all of you, but Oklahoma goes without food tonight because I want Houston and Dallas to get more."
Again, this isn't the Texas State Championship, it is the Southern Plains Regional Championship. If Houston is better for players in TEXAS, then that should be the location of the STATE championship. However, somewhere in the Dallas area should be the location for the REGIONAL championship because it is better accomodating the REGION.

And no, I won't be there. I got LUCKY last year with my family's budget. Things are a bit rougher this year so a plane ticket is definitely out of the question. I also absolutely REFUSE to drive seven hours; that's just absolutely ridiculous.

The Woodlands isnt 7 hours is it?Isnt just buy Dallas? I could be wrong, and prolly am...

Yupp, way off. The Woodlands is about 3 hours South of Dallas and 45 mins North of Downtown Houston.

To all the people who are gripping...I have changed my stance on this issue. I believe that if you truly want to attend an event, then MAKE it happen...Dont just sit around and whine about it. Whining doesnt solve anything IRL. You have plenty of time to get things in order. Like me for example. I have had the money saved for 2-3 Regionals (regardless of location) for about the last 2 months. I didnt wait around to see where it was at. Therefor I have made my trip to Regionals happen by DIRECT ACTION......

Not whining isn't going to make me go, either. So either one of two things happen. I sit around and be angry at the bad location choice. Or, I can voice my opinion on WHY the location is a bad choice and hopefully get things changed so I can plan on attending a Regional Championship in the future.
