The Cards the metagame is missing...

I think the thing our format is lacking most of all is a decent, not so flippy starter. Cleffa honestly isn't all that great. It gives you a second chance with your hand, but pulling a set up together is still potentially challenging, not in a deck building sense, but a reliance on luck. Adding to your initial hand, while having a decent deck to raise the odds of a good initial hand would be much more beneficial. Furthermore the baby stalling factor in general adds unnecessary luck to the game. In the initial turns, it can give infinite set up in one game, where as the next game it, along with a plethora of other cleffas, could all be passing out prizes before you set up, along with the annoying sleeping Cleffa at the start of your turn. Then, factor in Tyrogues and the donk-ability that they bring, putting a lot of focus not only on the donks, but on going first to preform them. More health, no flips, and preferably some actual draw. Unfortunately I'll be even more specific. Due to the energy intensive games that this format brings, a free attacking and free retreating basic would be ideal as well. Otherwise, this starter has useless late game capability along with putting yourself much farther behind when facing an opponents god like hand.

I'd be extremely content with this format had there been something like that printed.

^ the problem with the starters are not that we dont have decent ones, but we dont have the draw support we need.
at the moment cleffas are good since it provides the draw support through the hand refreshing.
if we had a decent draw supporter, people can play things like stantler, and get away with it.
the truth is the lack of draw support and lack of definite ways of getting around the baby wall is whats keeping the cleffas as the top card. i expect less and less of this card as the game moves (hopefully) forward

i never said this format is bad. infact i love this format. it is definitely a nice change to the game with a wide variety of decks. i never once posted the format was bad. i am simply saying what the format is missing atm that would make the game better

1) Reversal, Switch, and Circulator.

2) Juniper, PONT, and CC.

3) We haven't had that since those cards were legal. Cyrus was a terrible card for the format.

4) Ya got me there.

5) Ninetales, Magnezone, and Sunflora.

what are you talking about?

since when was reversal, switch and circulator can completely substitute a warp point? i fail to see ur reasoning. it would be nice to have a card that allows you to switch while getting around babyflips.

since when was pont a straight draw card? there are multiple hand refreshers in the format, but not a good straight draw. if you suggetsting CC (which allows opponent to draw one) as a good draw, then :nonono:

Cyrus was a great card for the format. you are dead wrong in that. the reason it was depicted as bad is because of the whole SP rage thing. cyrus was just a castaway for SPs only. cyrus was still the only card that allowed you to get a basic energy or/and look for another supporter. and the reason we dont have cards like castaway and tranceivers are because new cards with similar role were printed. and they werent printed since they were legal? that make absolutely no sense as all cards are legal when printed, and when they rotate out, all cards become "werent printed since they were legal". if you are referring to reprinting, scott and stevens was reprinted before. we dont need the exact same card to be reprinted. im saying something that accomplishes the role of being the center of the trianer/supporter line.

i didnt know ninetales and magnezones searched the deck for cards, i thought ppl use them for draws not search. must be my mistake.

What we need back is Warp Energy, so much nasty lock stuff and no way out :/
I also want bebe/celio back, elm is just bad. And some way to discard (felicitas?) and a counter to GoW (spiritomb) would be appreciated

i can see where warp would help. i dont think it is badly needed as other cards, but it might be needed more and more as the format goes on. it is hard to say as of now
i think petm is decent enought to cover for bebe/celio. its not the best but it still does most of the job.
felicities would be a Great card since it provides discard and draw. however, i dont think we need more discard since we already have things like junk arm and juniper.
i would absolutely HATE to see spiritomb come back. that card was beyond stupid to be in a format with vileplume. perhaps it was designed to slow sps and Donk trainer decks down, but the card was absolutely ridiculous. i ran vilegar for states and regionals and i cant begin to tell you how stupid i tihnk the deck is. it is really good but i think it hurt the format. the deck turned into, no trainers at all, and you have to flip to kill gengar. stupid.
