The counter for SP

I'm confused. Is Pachirisu being suggested because of it's Smash Short attack?

i think that amu kills g deck just because you can outspeed them and if you use palkia x the regular one you can get rid of the pesky stuff on the bench

not at all because they power spray your powers... so you cant set up, then one shot everything with toxicroak.... and you need all three Level Xs in play to doo 200. they need 2 pokemon and a stadium AMU is the worst deck to play against SP
And if you dont one shot their toxicroak the will poke turn him and just send up a fresh one

i say the dusknoir is the perfect deck. you have their weakness and night spin just eats all of their attacks alive. especially when they're relying on energy gain

Pachirisu was helpful against palkia G but it did not win me the match. It did 80 damage once but then it only did 20 and pachirisu was knocked out and then he used cyrus conspiracy to get another energy gain.

Hmmmm. I've been thinking long and hard, and it seems a possible solutino is an old deck - Magleaf.

Think about it, Leafeon resists Palkia, Dialga has weakness against Magmortar, and the two cards have great synergy together. With a Supporter heavy trainer line (so as not to get owned by Deafen) and maybe Pachirisu as a starter (doubles as a Palkia-annoyance) it really could work!

Pachirisu is overrated as a Palkia-stopper though. I remember a game once where the same Pachirsu was Pokemon Rescue'd 3 times against me, but I ended up killing it 4 times and eventually winning. It's not a game-winning tech at all... But better than nothing.

MagLeaf is too slow. You get owned by Power Spray and early mesprits. Not to mention SP sets up faster than you anyways. And I'm pretty sure if you had Mag up, they'd just bring up a Palkia and smack you, same goes for Leafeon, who gets smacked by Dialga. It's really not hard to play against. :/

Meh, I guess you're right...

I was thinking Machamp, since most Palkia/Dialga decks don't run many Unown G and can't attach one if they're using Energy Gain. Problem is Machamp relies on Uxies, which are Power Spray-able and can be slowed down by Mespirit. G decks aren't that easy to counter. Hmmm.

More or less this is how it panned out in testing, unless you want to argue that I was running a bad Magleaf list - it sure felt like it. Machamp could work if they don't go second and T1 deafen.

Dusknoir DP is the proper tech against SP pokemon. Most of them play uxie, crobat and skuntank or mesprit. Of course they can power spray some of their pokemon, but I played a game with my dusknoir in which the other guy played 3 mesprits, and he ended up sending those to death because he could not get rid of them. Super scoop up is an option but it's too flippy.

This just in:

Absol is great against SP set up. Since Conspiracy and Honchcrow puts the trainers and supporters in hand, Absol can pick away up to 2 of them.
