So you're just going to ignore the fact that Orion is a former National Champion?(it may have been in Seniors, but it was in a much more skill based format than this year and you're mentioning Sanchez's win)
And Luke Reed go Top 8 at Worlds this year if I'm not mistaken. He also got 2nd with Steelix at NorthEast regionals earlier this spring (bad match-up and his opponent got lucky). Not sure about his other accomplishments but he's a fantastic player
Orion should obviously be on the list, but why wouldnt he mention my win? I'm the current champion and implying that i didnt have to play good is just dumb. Yeah Orion got to outplay more opponents than me, sure. But being in masters usually doesnt give you that luxury with more rounds and better players.
This. Was DP-BW the most skill-based format? Definitely not. But it's not Justin's fault it was like that, and anybody who can win U.S. Nationals has my instant respect, regardless of format. Just because there were a lot of coin flips doesn't mean you don't have to be an amazing player to win.The second I saw FL in the title it caught my eye for the respect I have for the area.
Go back and read all the posts here. Sounds more like Cheerleaders at a catfight then a discussion about Pokemon.
I was also very glad to see I recognized 12/14 of the names he listed as the top two players. There's still some skill in the format.
