Greetings everyone, and welcome to the grand unveiling of the PokéGym’s brand new Image Gallery! Over the past several months, we have been working to bring you this feature, which will showcase high-quality scans of different Pokémon card series, allow you to upload images for your articles, upload avatars for our avatar contests, and view photos from recent tournament events.
The most prominent feature of this new Image Gallery is that we will now be allowing anyone with an article being written in the article or news submission forums to upload the images to our gallery, for use in the article. In order to upload images for your article, follow this step by step procedure:
There is a Gallery for uploading Avatars in a continual Avatar contest! Every month, starting October 1, the Gym staff will select one or more Avatars from the top rated Avatars in the Avatar Contest Gallery. Winning Avatars will get their creators an Avatar Creator rank and be uploaded into the Avatar Pool for use by the members.
Many of the galleries, such as those containing event images and scans of cards, will not be open to public upload initially, until we get a feel for bandwidth requirements and the upload process. In the meantime, if you wish to contribute seriously to such galleries, you must discuss your proposed uploads by Private Message with a PokéGym administrator.
If you have feedback or discussion on the Gallery or suggestions for the upload process please post in the Gallery Feedback thread in the RTC. We hope you enjoy the Gallery in its initial version and we look forward to your contributions in terms of content and suggestions.

In order to upload images for your article, follow this step by step procedure:
- Prepare your images that you plan to use in your article. They must all be in JPEG, GIF or PNG format, with the proper extension on each file name (.jpg .gif or .png  ). In general, we’d prefer that you keep your images as small (in file size) as you possibly can.
- Post your article in the submission forum. It doesn’t matter what draft your article is in, but you must have some semblance of a work in progress for the images to be approved by the moderators. If you have yet to put the images into the article, the article title should include the phrase “PENDING IMAGES”, so that the forum admin is aware that your article is awaiting images.
- Upload your images. In the Gallery enter the Article Images forum. Upload the images you need for your article, and be sure that that image title contains the name of your article in the article forum.
- The images will not be available immediately. A gallery Administrator must first ‘moderate’ the images. So, when your images are uploaded, they will be put into a queue, waiting for the gallery mods or admins to allow them into the gallery.
- After the images have been accepted, you may go and view them.
- Link your images. On the screen in which you view them, you will find a set of pre-built vBcode tags ( the
- Change your article title. After the images have been properly inserted into your article, remove the “PENDING IMAGES” text from the title. From there on, the article process will proceed normally.
