The Holy Grail of Error Cards

What about a series 3 blank card.
Note: Series one was the blanks used for base-jungle
series 2 was the blanks used for fossil-team rocket
series 3 was the blanks used for Gym heroes-Neo destiny.
There were more but series three was the rarest.
Series 1 was just the back and kinda thin for placing hoil foil over it and then the printed front, it was stolen and people made fakes using them to make base cards with jungle icons.
series 2 was similar but thicker, also stolen and used.
Series 3 was a whole card front and back but the front was blank except for the yellow border, the computer would print the image on and only the foil part would cover the set amount of space not the whole card like 1 and 2. Not stolen but few like 1 or 2 put into boosters or decks by mistake.

I'd like to hear more details on what you are saying here. You can either post or PM me about it.
When you say stolen, do you mean in bulk?
Also, used to make a lot of fakes, or ones and two?
What is your source on info on this?

I ask because I want to document all of this kind of info on the site as a resource for collectors.

I've heard of that card. I've also heard of them without the WB stamp but I don't know if either really exist.
I don't have any of the WB promos with the upside down stamp, but I do have the complete set of four without the WB stamp. So they do exist.

I know that Prerelease Raichu is the rarest card in existence (or so the story goes...), but how exactly is it an error card?

The error is that some Base Set Raichu was printed with the prerelease symbol--there was never any "prerelease" for the Base Set. I believe the story was that the Raichu cards got mixed in with the Clefable ones, somehow.

I have a bunch of error cards, I've always been really interested in them, and that Persian was one I ALWAYS wanted, but never ended up getting. x_X Anyone have the 1st edition "Ivy" Pikachu? I remember how hot those were back in the day...not sure what one would go for, now.

And beleive it or not guys, the riachu DOES exist. I've seen 2 . Remember dmtm, he has one. So does Eric D. ( pokedok) . Several other wotc employees also have one, but i haven't seen those. That card IS the holy grail of english Pokemon cards- period!

the e hollywood story of prerelease raichu:

well... maybe not, but the legend goes that when they sent the jungle clefables to the printers to get the prerelease stamp on them, in the middle of one of the blocks of cards were about 100 base set raichus, which also got stamped with the prerelease logo.

as soons as they found the error, they destroyed ALL the raichus except for very few... the numbers fluctuate between 2 and 12 depending upon whom you talk to, but i know for certain that there is at least two still in existance... i've actually been trying to get my hand on one for well over a year now, but its clearly not easy...

anyway, besides the raichu there are a number of really valuable error cards. i know that the 1st edition base set pikachu was once highly sought after, and i was able to sell three of them for $200-$250 each. this was about 3 years ago... i still have a number left, perhaps now is the right time to sell...

on top of that i also have a number of 'square cut' cards... they're not errors per-se, but they are still highly valued.

the mysterious sample cards are very valued as well.... originally selling for $20-$100 dollars, but if you can find them on ebay now, they go for well over $500... but very very hard to find. i havent seen them for a while.

oh, and ip, i think that the non holo blastoise you're referring to is from 'trainer deck b'. its non holo, and has a plain back except for the letter B in red on it (i believe) i have one of the decks, but its sealed, and will always stay sealed.... (actually, i own half the deck. pure and i share ownership of it ;))

I've always been really interested in them, and that Persian was one I ALWAYS wanted, but never ended up getting. x_X

yeah tat error was somehow the best i ever seen,no HP means invincible LOL,for prerelease raichu well i saw some scans in the past(like a year ago in ptco),not sure whether i would trust the image or not ,too suspicious

How does the Trainer Deck A (aka Brock's Deck) compare to the Holy Grail metaphor? I've never seen one been traded either here or on eBay (not saying that hasn't happened though)

The Trainer Deck A is probably worth about $100 if sealed.
You see them now and again.
I have one.

I don't have a PR Raichu.

Didn't know that one was actually sold.
That's news to me.

When I say stolen I mean like 1 or 2 was stolen and then copied and yeah when there was the whole counterfeit scare during the jungle and base days when pokemon was hot those very counterfeits came from the stolen and copied blanks. There are card copy pros that do this for a living off of every card game that is hot like the yugi-oh fake god cards most liekly done the same way by the same people. The japanese have never had a probelm with this, well with pokemon cards anyways so when I showed off my blank card even the japanese artist and their translators asked where I got it from and had never seen it before. I have one of the series 3 blanks, I got it from a sabrina's deck by mistake and I called wizards about it because my S. alakazam was missing so I wondered if I could send the deck and get a new one, this was during the neo 2 days and when target was selling gym decks for like $5. Well, wizards wanted that blank back so bad they offered me 2 boxes of neo 2 for it ( no joke) and then thought to keep it and I have for years, I did promise I them I wouldn't make any fake cards nor would I give it up, and I think I am the only one to have a series 3 blank but you never know. As for my information, I got a great intrest in error cards and blanks and so I researched it on the internet and my dad is a cop and told me about how people had done it so that's how I learned about all this stuff.
And on a side note I got my blank card signed my all 4 artist and the creator of pokemon at worlds so now there is no way the card could be copied and used and it does matter since they have changed the blanks a lot after hte Neo era.

NO offense BUT IMO no one out of WotC *if it exists =P* should have that card...

*grumbles*

Perhaps mythical jealousy... lol

So 7(?) years in the making, and THATS all we have evolved the prerelease raichu myth into! We need someone to create a better urban myth...

So was that good enough info for you PokePop.
Sure thanks.
But I have to say that all of the fakes that I've seen have not used blank error cards or template cards.
At least, not that I know of...
