The Junior World Champion (He did it!)

Yea. This year is going to be INSANE. I don't want to play the world champion. :/ lol Then, I have to worry about Kevin, and to top it off, Pablo too. :O wow lol
 
All i remember is being in awe that Tristan finally won Worlds, and then i found out that he won it with Scizor/Croak and i was like "ok, that's pretty much impossible." But he did it, i am really happy for him and all of Colorado, and i can't wait to go out and buy his deck to see how it really worked.

Congrats to you to Christian and Ian on Top Cuts in Seniors and Masters

Lets play nice guys. The creators of the deck really do deserve some credit, as does the person that played it so very well.

Gotta say, when Ian sent me this deck list and asked to help out with it. I saw AWESOME potential with it. I mean, it nearly BROKE what seemed to be an unbreakable meta. I am just glad I got a chance to input on it a little, and that I got to see it win juniors, congrats!!
 
I'll try to get Tristan to write a tournament report when he gets back from Disneyworld in a few days.

More like this Wayne I just won worlds Im going across the street!!! Kev or chris which ever of you is posting about it we only care about the credit to a point. We were so happy everyone played it did well and had more fun than theey prolly had all year was the best part for me (and running around with the Crogunk doll all weekend.) Tristan won with the deck and his record was so impressive. Im so glad he played it Im so proud to be a part of something like this. The shock of the deck when opponents saw it was way cool. Congrats again Tristan!! Im buying the deck even though I have 2 copies of it one being all foil LOL

I was only watching senior and masters finals, so I didn't hear this till after I got back to the hotel.

Could someone explain the synergy between croak and Scizor please? I don't really get it...

Well i didn't create the deck so this could be WAY off, but the way i see it is...

Toxicroak MD for 1 :psychic: energy does 40 with LB in play, 50 w/o LB in play (at least vs. G&G) and poisons the active, if your hit the coin flip they are also Paralyzed.

That then in turn puts them in KO range for the Scizor if they have a Special Energy attached to them

Lather, Rinse, and Repeat, but of course, that is just from the perspective that you are playing against G&G, which of course was played heavily at Worlds

I always knew Toxicroak MD was a good card =D

Pokepockets is close, although technically Toxicroak doesn't necessarily weaken a Gallade only to bring it within Scizor KO range.
Toxicroak can 2HKO's Gallade himself.
50+poisen=60. by the end of your opponent's turn, 70. then you attack again and it's 120, after your attack poisen knocks them out. 2HKO & a chance for Paralysis... for only one energy.


there's no actual synergy between the 2 cards themselves; in a way that say, Typlosion and Magmorter synergize,

but they do synergize to take down the metagame.


Toxicroak's good at fighting Gallades/Gardies, and eats Ralts early game... 2HKO's Gardys. Turn2's Ralts etc..

Scizor hurts the majority of decks, since they all run special energies(especially with the release of Call Energy)

although Toxicroak hurts G&G decks the most, he's not bad against other decks...
if you're facing an Empoleon deck, quite often they have a special energy on their Emp. (Scramble, Call, etc)
if that is the case, use paralyze poisen for 20... 30 by the end of your turn, 40 by the end of theirs. after that, retreat, bring up Scizor and special blow for 80. 40+80=120. at the end of your turn 130, KO'ing the Emp. (PLUS u had a chance at Paralysis, possibly stopping their Emp from attacking)
if they don't have a Special Energy on their Emp, that's when it's time to Blast it with Electrode.

Scizor/Beach hurts Leafeon..

Cess hurts Torterra..

it was just good for the metagame,
don't expect it to be any good after worlds lol

I'm too glad he took this one.

When i first knew him, i believed it was just a good Junior player, but i didn't ever thought about the fact he would have fight for the title and won it.

Congrats to both Tristan and his team who made the Toxicroak!
