It seems like a moot point to talk about "crazy" in-game events, because they're just statistical improbabilities.

Either way, I'll share a fun one...

Way back when in 2006, I was up against a Rock Lock. Both of us were/are good shufflers; yet, both of his Dark Ampharos were prized, while both of my Pidgeot were prized.

I'm no statistician, but that's pretty dang unlikely.
something around 1:2000 for the specific incident or a similar one , which given the number of players involved in pokemon and the widespread use of Rock Lock makes such reports quite probable. Not for any specific individual but for at least some pair of individuals.

The ness / yacine RPS sequence isn't that odd at all. 1:81 for four ties, 1:120 for the game ending on the fifth throw.

At the first CC in Corvallis I was up against Shawn Gettys. I have a lone basic out (I don't remember what). He goes first. He has a whismur out. Rare candy, Exploud, boost energy, knock out. That's game. I didn't even get a turn.

From my VA tourney report.

I'm in a lock for the first 3/4 turns from his mesprits. Luke is powering up gigas(active) to try and take a quick prize off of me. I spend a few turns building up damage with a palkia. Eventually it gets to the point were he wins the next turn off of gigablaster if I don't win on my turn. Since he FINALLY ran out of mesprits, and was unable to power lock me I set my evil plan into motion. I roseanne for 2 bats. Double Flash Bite Gigas, double poketurn, and Flash Bite Gigas 2 more times. I then Pearl Breath for game.

PA State Championship a couple of years ago, playing Vileplume EX in a psychic invested environment. Getting hammered by a Gardevoir EX which I had managed to get 30 damage on by the time I am down to a single energyless Oddish. Finally topdecks the Candy and go Candy+Bellossom+Scramble+Strength Charm for the KO.

Ness and Yacine's RPS game isn't crazy and awesome because of odds, it's crazy and awesome because Ness plays RPS so seriously. I personally think that in between ties, they were trying to tap into eachother's minds.

okay, to be honest my thoughts were that the RPS play was a bit slow. I was surprised that they both opened with Rock, and very surprised that Yacine chose Rock for the fifth throw . RPSRR is going to fail most times .

T4 Nats last year:

2-1 in prizes for me, his turn. he koed my banette with his non-damaged gyarados. i sent shuppet with energy, NMed one banette, celio's for it, attached energy and drop one strenght charm and one, two, THREE pluspower for the win :D

Most lucky win at states.

Washington R3 I start with my lone unown G and my opponent starts with s lone Skull fossil. I have a Roseans but of course I have to go 1st.

T1 I draw a card, no basic. attatch a Psychic to Unonw G and pass, and expect the game to be over.
His turn he draws a card. Attatched a fighting energy to his fossil. plays a Roseann's gets a machop and a Uxie. Ok its over now I think. He benches the Machop then the uxie and draws 4 cards and... passes.

I cant believe it. I live.

T2 I play Roseanns for an uxie and a duskull. Attatch to Unown G Uxie for a few cards and KO his Fossil.
The he sends up Uxie draws a card and.....passes. Wow

T3 I draw a card attatch to Duskull. Play a bebe's I got with Uxie, get Dusknoir and rare candy the Duskull. Then I OHKO hos uxie with Unown G (50 damamge +20 weakness)
Then he sends up Machop. uses a Fossil Excavstor get back his skull fossil. Rare candys it to Rampardos and ends his turn.

T4 I draw attatch 2nd energy to Dusknoir and Then Unown G OHKO's his Machop (50 damage +10 weakness)
Then he draws fianlly gets an energy and OHKOs my Unown G doing 40 damage to himself.

So I go from what should be a T1 loss to getting 3 prizes and doing 40 damage to his 4th pokemon with one unown G.

Worst loss... Oregon States R4

I am playing a player who tells me that he never plays pokemon. He removes and unsleeved deck and teels me that he lovesd in San Francisco, but his brother is from Oregon, and he and his son play Pokemon. So his brother invited him and his some to come visit from California and play so they came andwere given decks.

T1 So we cut eachothers decks and he has a 3 pokemon start to my lone Duskull (Reapercloth). He goes first and flips over a Chatot, and has an elctrike and a piplup on the bench. He retreats brings up the Piplup and attatches.
My turn I draw and get a Dusknoir. My other cards are Prof Rowans (my lone supporter) Two warp Points,
a Two Psychic and a Metal energy and a Premier Ball. I attatch a Psychic and know I have to pull something with Rowans. I have 9 other basic pokemon, 3 Dustclops, 2 rare candy. 6 Bebe's/Roseanns and a Luxury ballcury ball. Odds are I have to get somethingto help me. I keep my Dusknoir and put my hand into my deck and shuffle it and shuffle it and shuffle it and shuffle it. after 4 good shuffels I think I am good to go and present it to bu cut. He custs it and I get my 4 cards. Now ther are 21 cards that will save me so I am not two worried. Then I look at my 4 cards Idrew. I get Two Warp Points and the Special Metal energy.... # of the csrds I just shuffeled back in, then the 4th card and the only new one is annother Dusknoir, the one card from my hand I kept. I csnt belive it. I am going to loose to a piplup.
I can even play a warp point because both his Chatot and his Lectrike have free retreat so I csnt even gamnle he could make a mistake on his active selection.
I attack and flip tails.

T2 He draws. attatched a 2nd energy to his pilup and hist me for 20 taking me to 30 damae out of 50 HP
I know this is my last chance to stay into the game. Idraw my card..... Its a. Cresselia ....X!!
I loose. I show him my hand, He looks Puzzeled :Why are your doing that.... oh do I win??!!?!?
"Well yes as soon as I attack. I flip heads this time "yea' He draws and KO's my lone pokemon.

Just for fun I flip over my next card to draw....ITS AN UXIE""" Gaaa !!!! one turn away frome getting to play the game!!!!!!!

It was back when ex sets were out. I had a burned magikarp active with one energy attached and no energy on my bench pokemon. My opponent has a blaziken ex out with 40 HP left no energy on his bench pokemon. I flipped a tails for the 20 damage at the beginning of my turn and then attached an energy to a bench and then KO'ed the blaziken ex. Basically 5 turns passed where my opponent did not get any energy out. I keep on getting heads so I keep attacking for 20 damage with my magicarp until my opponent finally managed to get an energy card to ko it.

Turn 1 ko with baltoy at reginals

1 felicity-discard a fire energy
Draw 3 : 2 plus power and an energy pick up
Play 4 plus power flip heads for energy pick up
Attach multi energy
