Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

This is gonna inhale profusely. (Hurricane Irene)

Supposedly the worst of it has passed for us. I'm a good bit inland in NC, and there doesn't seem to be too much damage, aside from a handful of knocked over trees. I imagine it's a bit worse towards the coast, but to my knowledge, there haven't been any fatalities.

CNN's reporting two deaths. One person was hit by a falling tree limb while feeding livestock this morning, and yesterday someone had a heart attack while boarding up their home.

Someone was telling me about their Floridian relatives who laugh at them when they worry about Category 2 hurricanes.

Apparently, you guys take on Category 4s and 5s all of the time in Florida!

I'm beginning to feel as if Virginia is the land of paranoia!

NY & PA laughs at us for cancelling school due to snow (that's less than 8 inches)
FL laughs at us for cancelling schools and businesses for Tropical Storms and Cat 1-2 hurricanes.
CA & AZ laughs at us for calling any week with more than 4 days of 100 degree weather a "heatwave."
and MD just... laughs at us

HOWEVER ... at least we stayed open during the earthquake!
(I'm lookin' at YOU Washington D.C. )

Hurricanes for us just mean free days off of school and a buttload of yard work afterwords.

Keep in mind, FL is built for Hurricanes. The mid Atlantic is not. Even the general shape of the land is REALLY bad for when they come up, since the storm surge can get magnified if it comes up the Chesapeake.

Uhm... I thought we were experiencing the hurricane all day. Turns out, it doesn't even reach us until Midnight!!

Whuuutt the heck is this we're getting now?? o_O

This may actually be (very) bad afterall :(

I was wondering based on that radar from down there. Stay safe everyone!! I hope you either found another way to access the gym or charged your phone. I hope you weren't using that half phone charge.

Ok. It's all gone. Like someone else said, it was just alot of wind. I went around towm and helped out where I could. The road crews had already cleared fallen trees on main roads and I don't think anyone arou.d here got hurt.

noone has electricity, but. It's all good.

At least the car will charge my phone without being started :)

Ugh, too bad Irene isn't like a play set of tech cards, and you could split it up to trade with other areas, thus creating better weather conditions for both.

"Hey, Texas: I'll trade you half of this tropical storm if you give us half of your dry, arid weather. Sound good?"

Here in FL they have cut my school and many other schools for Tropical Storms. The worst storm I have been through was a Cat 2 near Cat 3, a very strong 2, we were right be the eye, very scary.
