Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

thunderdome or zeel

I'd say Zektrik, but I'm a bit biased.

Thunderdome has unlimited damage output, but Zektrik has a better early game and an easier time setting up.

If you don't test regardless of what you play you are going to lose to someone with a deeper understanding of the format.

if you dont have time to test just play whichever deck your most comfortable playing, both are good now so whichever youre the most comfortable playing is the right choice

I dont have much time to test cuz i actuly have a life so im busy alot

You have a life, yet you ask us a question, isn't that taking time OUT of your life to post? If your busy a lot why play the cardgame? I'd prefer Zekrom/Eel much more faster and doesn't suddenly hit a downfall, unlike Mageel.

but in reality, though. Zek eel is the play.

This.

As much as I have an unabated man-crush for Magneels, Zek seems to be the one winning out. That said, you better be prepared against Terrakion, since Zekrom and CMT have gone from possible BDIFs to definite Most Teched Against Decks in Format (MTADF? What a moronic acronym).

As much as I have an unabated man-crush for Magneels,

You're not the only one. Zekrom/Eels is probably the way to go now. With the EX's, speed is key, and the faster you could start dealing damage, the better.
Also the OP won't be responding anytime ever. yaybanned

I would advise against playing either one, they're Cubone matchups are just awful. Admittedly I have yet to actually test this. Furthermore, having not played this game in over 14 years, I'm not entirely sure how much Cubone actually sees play in my meta (let alone yours).

In my opinion, the best play for your meta is hands down Regigas EX/Vileplume/Reuniclus/Leavany /Emboar/Archeops. While I have yet to write up a list for this deck, it is undefeated at theorymon so far. The strategy is elegant in its simplicity, yet unstoppable once it gets set up. If you can not win with this deck, you're obviously a terrible player, and would be better off not playing this game (on the other hand, if you can win with this deck [or any deck for that matter], you're obviously a terrible person, who needs to quit this game and get a life). That's how easy this deck theoretically is to use. Hypothetically, RVRLEA EX has perfect matchups all across the board (with one minor exception). Here's the rundown:

Thunderdome: 110-0
This should be self-explanatory to an elite player like yourself.

Zekeel:110-0
See Thunderdome.

Cubone: 100-0
Leavanny gets rid of Regigas' fighting weakness!

Audino/Victini: 100-0
Audino is ugly...

Shiftry: 100-0
This deck is too flippy to keep up with the insane consistency of RVRLEA EX.

BlastGatr: 100-0
Running two stage 2s just isn't viable in today's format.

Durant: 5-95 (w/out bias and theorymons: 0-100)
RVRLEA EX is an incredibly intricate deck; every single card is absolutely essential to winning. If even one card gets milled, this deck completely falls to pieces. With REAL decks, this isn't an issue, but Durant is another beast entirely. Your best bet is to out speed the Durant player, quickly setting up and KOing their Durants before they can get enough energy to use Devour. However, this takes a lot a of skill (and some some luck). Even if you lose to a Durant player, you shouldn't feel too bad about it. After all, it's common knowledge among pros that Durant players are n00bs, scrubs, and/or trolls. Their is also a growing amount of data pointing to the idea that Durant player's are also cheaters!

No matter what deck you choose for States, no matter how well you place, remember this: At least you still have your life. ;)

Is it the fact that you have a life which is the reason you neglected to actually send cards to 2/3 of the people you traded with?

As much as I hate to admit this myself, Thunderdome's days might be numbered. I recently tested my EelZone deck against Durant by going Aggro Zekrom (Regular) and I figured the only reason why I lost is because I didn't setup 1 Magnezone and 1 Eelektrik while mainly attacking with Zekrom using Bolt Strike for prizes when I should've only Bolt Striked twice and then Outraged for the rest of my prizes.

I like ZekEel but If you take away Magnetic Draw then you'll need to rely on more Draw Supporters for the deck to win which also takes up deck space for cards that are crucial for your deck. Oddly enough out of all the times I play Magnezone I seem to always be 2 energies short of Lost Burning an EX for 2 prizes which is weird especially against a :metal: deck a friend of mine runs which uses Scizor Prime and Cobalion NV pretty well.

TyRam isn't as popular as it used to be and I figured why isn't anybody running Scizor especially with the amount of Special Energies being played in the current metagame? Red Armor is like continuous Lost Remover/Crushing Hammer for those Aggro :metal: decks aside from Durant which focuses on decking out instead of taking prizes. No love for Reshiram EX?
