^ Exactly my point. It isn't. Nobody caught him in the process of doing it. The guy in question caused other problems but noone could do anything about him, so the store just cut off FNM as a whole.
Prime example:
During the Stormfront Prerelease I held an event at a huge card shop, Pokemon on one side and YGO on the other, (IF I'D KNOWN YGO WAS ON THE SAME DAY, I'D HAVE RESCHEDULED). During our Pre, I noticed a police officer roaming the store and questioned the local Pokemon league leader about it. I was told that ANYTIME YGO has an event, security has to be provided. This is a police officer with a gun, again A GUN in a gaming store. WHAT?
,
Honestly, I probably lost 15 players because of YGO due to parents not wanting to drop off the kids. Heck, I can't blame them, I wouldn't either.
I just don't get it, WHY would a gaming store owner have an event if security is needed? I guess the all mighty dollar is more important. Yeah, I'll admit he probably sells more YGO, 10 times more than Pokemon. I think I just answered my own question, that GUN is worth it.
WOAH, WOAH, WOAH...
An on-sight officer, armed with a GUN!?
That's ludicrous. Even if they sell more Yu-Gi-Oh! packs, that's one of the situations where you determine that your Yu-Gi-Oh! Meta is not a safe bunch and the store should simply use common sense: stop doing the prer-eleases. Granted, they won't make as much money, but they won't lose as much stock/have as many people complain...
Jesus...
Once again, stereotypical meta ruins view of the game. The good thing is he never had to draw his weapon, lol. I feel the store owner cold have hired an unarmed officer and sent the same message to the players.
This is not my league store but I can tell you that the store league has LOST quite a few players since then. Parents don't forget things like this, and I don't blame them. It's too bad because the owner has a good store, great location and plenty of room.
I don't want to sit here and bash YGO players but when you have 140 players lined up outside, all dressed in black, baggy pants with chains, bandanas on their head, an armed officer at the door, AND 50 feet from the street for all the traffic to see you, what kinda message is that going to send to parents with kids that want to go to that gaming store? Honestly, most parents going to said store for a Pokemon event for the first time and sees this will keep driving and never stop.
People like you are the reason I regret posting on this forum.Yugioh is bad. I could end this paragraph there, but then I would be overlooked, and I understand why a yugioh player would do so. Yugioh players are the meanest player base I have ever seen. I hear more about cheating and stealing in yugioh in one week at my local than I think I have ever heard in pokemon and magic combined. The players care only about themselves and winning. Cheating is a must for winning, as is having decks that cost more money than my car. I have only met one nice yugioh player in my life, and yugioh isn't the only game he plays. I have a feeling that if I dont stop ranting on yugioh player i will get banned from pokegym yet again, so ill shut up now, but you get my point. yugioh is epic fail.

COOK:
lol.. Many of the people that played in your tournaments for a while either have been or are current MTG players, and this does not just include myself.
I cannot say the same for YGO. I've seen the kids, met the kids, heard the kids cussing in front of Juniors and their parents. They don't have respect for anyone. Not all are like that. I would say the YGO players over 21 are fine to deal with. It's the 14 to 20 age group that ruins the YGO name. But then again, that's why their in YGO. No little kids, no parents, no supervision, no respect taught at home, and plenty of rebellion. That's teenagers, I get it.
I'm talking about when I would walk into MetalBeard Games. There would be 10 -12 Magic players, all decked out in black, chains, etc. It bothered me but once I met them my mind was changed.
I never did play there too far away lol.
But year some of them do dress like that :O~
Looks aren't everythning ;O!~
ArmoredMewtwo:
Cook Is Talking YuGiOh players. so only be offended if you play YuGiOh and you are 14-18/20/whatever years old lol .
Tina's theory is most people hit maturity at 18; paying expenses, and by then they have a job ect.
I can talk about this too many YGO people in the Early teen years are just rude, and it's really tough as a girl in that game too.
Teen girl in yugioh = you get hit on and it may not even be safe. Heck that's prpbably the reason I don't play.
most 13-17 yr old Pokemon players are well behaved. Well better behaved then the YGO players.
For some reason every time a card shop gets robbed or cards get stolen it's YGO cards. wow I wonder why.
