We are in Pokemon TCG forum... obvious! but still important to remember....

I play Pokemon and Magic to a good level.
I prefer Pokemon over Magic by far, but they both have flaws.

Pokemon is better cause is less LUCK based. You simply DRAW more cards and so you decrease chance you don't get what you need.

Magic has more complex mechanics and INTERRACTION with opponent's turn.
Pokemon will get this with "power spray" now..

WAS JUST TRYING TO MAKE A POINT ABOUT BASHING ANY GAME ...

That's been forgotten .. already.. so...

REPOST .. before it gets lost....

STRUCK A NERVE DID I ?

Thank you. Your response is what I was trying to induce...

Ok... the POINT that I've made with this post is...

JUST DO YOU
.. and, please, ALLOW OTHERS to do what THEY wanna do without making them feel WRONG for enjoying something different.

and.. be cool.

PEOPLE ... NOTHING is gained when you DIMINISH OTHERS because they're not playing YOUR GAME ...

You feel me ?

So... I've posted the same type of OVERGENERALIZATIONS that get on MY nerves
so those who enjoy magic and Yugioh games could DEMONSTRATE how this sort of dialogue aggrevates THEM!

EVERYONE is aggrevated when they are attacked with generalizations.

The TRUTH IS:
1. Any game where noone gets hurt, contributes to a sense of community, and is enjoyed by a group is worthwhile.
2. There are good and bad people involved in ANY game. (that's why we have rules and penalties in every game.. lol)
3. I, actually, find Magic interesting but had to make a point .. lol (never did like Yugioh though... lol)

WHEN you KNOCK someone down for their choices:

Everyone just ends up feeling bad ...
or angry...
or worse..
embarrassed to enjoy things they enjoy <== THAT, my friends, is what "Sucks" .. ok ?

nah mean ?

So... the thread is madness with a method...

RA .. out.

Have you not been paying attention to anything I've posted?

I am a Yu-Gi-Oh! Player (League Leader).
I am 16 years of age (17 in March).

Granted, I (as well as most of my players) also play Pokemon, but many of them consider themselves Yu-Gi-Oh! players primarily. Also our store did have a problem with a thief, but he stole Pokemon cards. Oddly enough, we were blamed for it. Thrice. :nonono: Fortunately, the store now knows of the individual responsible... Unfortunately, he's moved.

Well I have never said ALL YGO players are rude... ect.
But it seems many other people just not myself have issues with them.

AND I have Played YGO, I used to go to a YGO league a long time a go :O! Some of the people are well roundly decent. However for some reason the play environment in that game has little spirit of the game.

Kinda late, but as a response to Armoredmewtwos response to me:

The only reason that my opinion is as it is is that I have never seen any single yugioh player who doesn't fit the description I previously gave. You say that you are, but you obviously arent only a Yugioh player. You obvioudly play multiple card games, consisting of AT LEAST Pokemon and Yugioh. My post was entirly about Yugioh players, not people who play multiple games, such as you or I.

Yugioh is bad. I could end this paragraph there, but then I would be overlooked, and I understand why a yugioh player would do so. Yugioh players are the meanest player base I have ever seen. I hear more about cheating and stealing in yugioh in one week at my local than I think I have ever heard in pokemon and magic combined.
Which is funny, because I heard about more reckless behavior (as well as cheating at a Pre-Release) at Pokemon events than at YuGiOh tournaments.

IIRC, wasn't there a theft issue about two or three World championships ago?

The players care only about themselves and winning. Cheating is a must for winning, as is having decks that cost more money than my car.
Well then thank God I found the group of people I play with

I have only met one nice yugioh player in my life, and yugioh isn't the only game he plays. I have a feeling that if I dont stop ranting on yugioh player i will get banned from pokegym yet again, so ill shut up now, but you get my point. yugioh is epic fail.
I've met many good people. I have even had regulars at the tournament scene complement me on my Warrior beat-down deck (way before synchros).

Obviously, there will be exceptions to the "I've met many good people" statement. Fortunately (for me), there have only been two exceptions to this rule, that being a kid who was instantly disciplined by his parent (who was also at the sneak preview), and a 24-year-old a few of us know who does nothing BUT play the game. Works; gets paid; buys cards.

i.e. the second guy has no life and tries to prove his superiority through card games...

...and that's when I activated "Shadow Imprisoning Mirror," and I'll leave it at that...

Moral of the story: You're living in the wrong area

No Offence but a lot of people do like complaining about MTG for little to no reason because they can. Now Magic is a lot of luck being that there is very little draw.
Which is why Legacy, Vintage, and Extended formats will ALWAYS be better than Standard format. Standard is just full of Faeries and some Green/Black Elves deck that even I don't know how that wins. Really. It is.

The other formats, on the other hand, have THE cards. You know. The cards that WILL search for what you're looking for (better goblin searching, epic artifact searching, etc), or help you draw cards (which there is a lack of decent draw cards in Standard. I'll admit) and WILL give you a winning deck...

Because when your Intruder Alarm Elf token deck can easily get dominated by a Coalition Victory deck, you know you're playing the right format. (And don't give me the "it's all luck" BS. The Coalition Victory deck my friend created is a beast. That's the only way to describe it).

Heck, I'd rather play Block Constructed than Standard =/

I like this guy already. :3

@ pat460: Well, sugar-coated or not, a stereotype is still a stereotype. We do have Yu-Gi-Oh!-only players as well that are more than well behaved. I take pride in that, and hate to see my players talked down upon.

As for those you (all against the Yu-Gi-Oh! crowd, not just pat) do speak of, they tend to fall into the category of those mentioned by Dek. They either:

1. Are really bratty kids, or;
2. Are adults whom seem to have no life beyond the game.

I, as well as most area judges, tend to have less problems from the teenagers than we do from the adults or the brats in our games. It's a crying shame, but it is true.

((To Clarify, I don't think all kids are brats.))

The stereotype of how they dress compared to how they acted (as aforementioned a little while back) doesn't really matter. That describes a few people in both of our leagues (mine and Keith's), but they know how to act appropriately at the leagues. We're friendly, we're courteous, and most of all we have high SotG.
