Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

TM's.. discarded or not?

It says in the rulebook that you discard a Technical Machine at the end of your turn(ya i know.. who reads the rulebook?)

didnt the TM rules got changed with the japanese dp5 release?

as in you can stack TMs and not discard them?

Yeah, Madhatter, unless you've secured a copy of the rulebook from the LA theme decks, you're wrong.
The DP5 visual book says nothing about discarding TMs - and such rulings are usually contained in the visual books. The cards say nothing about discarding them at the end of the turn, whereas cards like Strength Charm and Pluspower do.
So basically... I'm fairly sure you're wrong, especially considering your failure to provide any evidence whatsoever that you're right.

I cracked a theme deck open at our first pre-release since this question came up. The rule book says to discard them, so you discard them. The cards only explicitly override the rules, meaning the rules are only broken when the card says, not when it doesn't say.

The thing people need to realize on it is.. its probably one of those "implied rules".

I agree with chris.

No it isn't, it's an error.

TS-1 and TS-2 are the first of a new kind of Technical Machines which don't get discarded after use. The japanese compendium is pretty clear on this essay:

Q: 「ワザマシン」をつけているポケモンが、進化・退化・レベルアップしたとき、ついている「ワザマシン」はトラッシュされますか?
A: いいえ、されません。

Rough translation with Excite:

Q: The Pokemon that is applying "Wazamashin" has evolved. ・Degeneration・When raising the level, is trash done as for attached "Wazamashin"?
A: No, it is not done.

I'm guessing the ruling for technical machines on the op site is the one for the EX series and hasn't been undated since the LA set was just revealed. I'm pretty sure that the 2 new TMs will have a new ruling.
A good way to prove this would be comparing old Tms to the new ones, you'll notice that in the old ones they say: discard this card at the end of your turn whereas the new ones don't.

Hope this helps :thumb:

Hmm. I'm looking at the LA Rulebook that came with one of my theme decks. On page 9:

When you play a Trainer card, do what it says, then put it in the discard pile. (Certain types of Trainer cards, such as Pokemon Tools and Techincal Machines stay in play, but they'll say that on the card.)

I'm willing to bet that the Glossery is a mistake ... that they just pulled it up from past editions without updating it. But I either way I'm betting that a ruling or even eratta would be a good thing.

Has the basic rulebook ever been eratted?

Uh...
That ruling you pulled up is unrelated to what we're talking about.
That ruling asks this:

Q: When the Pokemon the TM is attached to evolves, devolves, or levels up, is the TM discarded?
A: No, it is not.

Here we're discussing them being discarded at the end of the turn or not.
