Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Together Wii will revolutionize gaming.

You are? I hate the name, but I wouldn't say it's a reflection of the machine's quality. If it's a good device I'll get it. I just wish it wasn't called Wii.

Fastphil: Is that really how you feel about the revolution (erm, Wii)? You've seem rather ambivalent towards Nintendo's new direction on these forums. Not just in your personal opinoin of the console, but the success of the Wii in the general market.

A change of heart? :D

Well, it will definately be the last of the 3 next gen systems i buy, but i will get one. Personally I like having 3 systems on the market. Nintendo needs to represent and so I will support them for that. Do they have a lot of games I will play (downloadable nes/snes/sega games excluded)...probably not. But my GF will sure play them :thumb: Lets just say, even though i like more games on the Ps2-3/Xbox platforms...I still remember my roots and all those countless hours on a Nintendo of some sorts. I do want them to do well. That being said; Props for picking a new name that is original....Slops for picking a name that sounds awful

I think the main thing keeping me interested in the Nintendo Wii, or the WII, or the NW, is the downloadable game part of it. Even if it's $.99 each, you could buy 50 old good games for the same cost of a brand new mediocre one.

As it appears a couple other people did too, before looking at this thread, I thought Wii was pronounced like why. Not exactly simple for those who don't know. And the PSP didn't get any urine jokes because it's the PSP, not PP. Either way, I would buy this before the PS3, but my first next-gen system will be the Xbox360.

The name change does cast doubts for me. Its part of a cycle in some sense: before Sega's last system, the Dreamcast, had a weird name with symbolic meaning too, after all. That's not to say the names that should be good all belong to successful systems: Jaguar, anyone?

But in some ways, its like an eccentric genius who is all "my new invention will revolutionize the world!" Well, he starts doing things that are eccentric, but that's how he's always been, so you write it off. Then things get very different, but again, genius is often misunderstood. Now he start's wearing a tutu. >.>

And they've already released most of the good ones on the current consoles...

Not to mention most of the good snes/nes/sega games can be downloaded and played on PC anyhow

What, you don't like n64 games?

me? well, i didnt "grow up" in the N64 era so not very many of those games are as memorable to me as the older snes/nes/genesis games. Not bad games, just not as nostalgic to me as the others

Oh whoop-dee-doo, you can download playstation games on the net, is that a reason not to buy a ps2? The NES/SNES games will be much more fun to play on the Wii than they would on the PC with the keyboard or the PS2/crappy pc controller.

From what I said on my post way above, I don't think this system sucks, I I just don't like the name. I will still get the system and Smash Bros. Some people may call me a hypocrite for this, but I couldn't care less.

While I will probably get it, this did make me have doubts. Like I said, the tutu is freaking me out.

But otherwise classic games are really the strong point for me. Contrary to popular belief, many great games haven't been re-released. I know, I have a container of them for my SNES that I broke. :frown:

Plus... has anyone remade Bonk?
