neither news nor gossip, moving to leagues
Your hero is a complete jerk.
this is why all trades done during league hours go through me first for approval...

OMG at my store its like the opposite. nOObs have some gold among their junk. I'll give them a bronzong or something for a TSD. I remember last format i gave like 2 celios for 3 AH Transievers when they were going for like $20 each, also gave like $10 for like 8 Mod ex's and a crapload of good rares and AH's, also why i bring lots of commons and uncommons to league. I got banned from trading for a while because i made a little kid cry when i wouldn't trade back, it was soooo funny. So to answer your question no noobs are still worth trading with. Anyone you can manipulate is worth trading with and little noobs are by far the easiest.
Here's some strategies i use.
Play1: standard double team
Traget Card(s): Anything
Speed: Medium, you need to give them a bit of time to think about it, in this situation it makes it seem better.
People required: 2-3 three is better but don't be to over the top.
Me: Your Mew* can only do a little bit of damage and has low HP. My Ryperiors has DOUBLE his HP.
Kid: I'm not sure mews still pretty good.
Me: Ryperior is better trust me i've won like a ten tourneys this year in know whats good.
My Freind: You're actually trading Rhyperior hes so broken.
Me: Yea idk i want the mew* for this junky deck i'm testing out.
My Freind: Still, hes soo good
Me: So will you do the trade.
Kid: Idk i guess
Me: Ok thanks
Play2: More and More
Target Card: Something high end.
Speed: fast, easy to realize its a bad trade just keep throwingthings on untill they say yes.
People: 1-2 i like to mix this one with the double team but it works solo too.
Me: I heard you need a salamance, i need your gardevoir lv x. wanna trade
Kid: IDK thats not really fair is it?
Me: of course not i would throw in some stuff
Kid: like what?
Me: Well you need bagons and shelgons right how about i give you three of those and another rare from my book.
Kid: Um
Me: and i'll throw in 2 bucks.
Kid: alrighti guess i'll do that
Me: Thanks kid your really helping me out.
Play3: More and More reversal
Target: Many mid-low end cards
Speed: Slow at first when you offer a good deal for the first card, then go supper fast.
People: 1, you need him to only be concentrated on you.
Me: hey i'll give you a galade for you gardevoir
Him: Ok
Me: wait a sec i'm not sure galade is a bit better how about throwing in that toros
Him': sure
Me: well i need a few trainers too they're not worth much how about you throw in 2 celios and 2 rosannes
Him: um i guess since they're only trainers
Me: K thanks how abuout 4 Basic darks just to be nice
Him: Ok
Play 4: Call it out
Cards aquired: One or more high end cards
Speed: medium
People:1
Assume x noob needs x card
Me: Hey i have a lucario lv x for trade anybody need one
Kid. Ooo i do i'll give you anything
Me: Well i like your cresselia and gardevoir lv X how about both for one.
Kid: Thats not really fair
Me: well this is the only way your going to get one and its really good and really rare i'm probably just going to keep it.
Kid: ...
Me: yeah i'll just keep it then
kid: wait can you throw in something
Me: i guess something small, how about a reg lucario and AH Riolu
Kid: fine
There are a few more but really those are he main ones got me like $600 in cards this past year.
Also on a side note let them make thew first offer if possible. And if they ever need a common/uncommon/bad rare give it to them it makes trading easier in the future if they trust you. Because the people you trust can control you the most.
Also avoid kids with parents there unless the parents were clueless.( one time a parent more or less forced his kid to trade his latias* for some junk of mine even tho the kids didn't want to).
Also it helps to actually be good at the game that earns you the nOObs respect.
Also feel free to use price guides like beckett they are useually wrong in your favor.
Also don't linger, gat in, make the trade and get out don't brag about it untill said kid leaves.
Show off your book often even if you don't need anything at the time when the kid gets something then they'll come to you.
Stock up on new set cards right away kids love gwetting new stuff.
Stand up for your right even against a league leader. If you get called out on a rip act like your right and they're wrong, it might not help with the LL but your prey won't get the wrong idea.
Know the people at your league there are always some nasty people who will ruin your trades learn how to work around them.
On ocasion feel free to make fair trades to make the kids happy. They may get ahead in the short run but in the long run you'll own everything they have.
Always act gracious and polite when not playing a part in a trade put up a good image.
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY don't let the allure of a good card cloud your judgement, don't do something stupid that would get you in trouble and halt future trades.
Well those are my tips.
Honestly the best approach if you have time.
Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:
Right now I'm wondering how long of a ban I will recieve if I told you what I really thought. And right now it almost seems worth it.
For me personally I usually give them a little more than what it is worth. I know they will have never have the cards to do a Gardevoir deck so I will see what kind of deck they have, oh so you have a grass deck about your Gardevoir for my 2 Tangrowth and some more grass rares. I'm ahead if you look at playability but there ahead in price value I'm really helping them improve there deck and strengthen there lines I will usually even help them work it into their deck.
And Kristen this really isn't an insult to you but what did you expect like you said all you had were holo's and you knew the Eevee was 2 cents all you did was let the kid look at your book knowing you would tell him no on anything he wanted.
We all have to remember its these little kids "noobs" that support this game I bet you on average little kids buy more pack than most of us. Just my 2 cents

I am thankful for...
The Captain being in Minnesota
I have friends in Minnesota, so I know that the Captain is not indicative of all of the players in the area.
The league leader should take this guy and well...
I like my professorship, but a trader like this, if reported, would not last long and any of MY leagues.
I was tempted to lock this thread, but is it better to expose the Captain for who he is, than have us not know about him.
Reading this, how many people want to trade with him in the trading forums?

You really are proud of yourself aren't you? God, if I see you at nats.......you don't want to know.
And 'pop' feel free too give my that title i'd actually want it.
