TurnCruel - My Results.

But its hard to do that around turn 1 Baleful most of the time. I know you can be a smart player, but its hard to get past that and you know that.

it could be hard turn 1 but you know, you have to know what card you think the opponent would chose...that's skill to be used on countering baleful winds.

and Luck, I dont know how much skill it is,to guess what you think your opponent is going to do. Thats more Luck than skill and its no point of sayings it more skill than luck because its a 33.3 chance they will either choose rock/scissors/paper, with those odds,it isnt that hard to think what they will choose.

Luck>Skill

Prediction actually is both skill and luck.

However, I don't think you can trick Baleful Wind that easy. If you can see your cards, or even if you put them into any order consciously, the Absol player can take conclusions on which card to choose, and this is much easier than for the "defending" player to manipulate him.

Since most good Absol players know the tricks how to choose cards by watching opponent's eyes etc , I would shuffle my cards and not look at them until my opponent made his choice. This is 100% random.

Matchup TurnCruel vs Leafeon isn't as bad as I thought, but imho still in Leafeon's favor. If TurnCruel can start spreading one or two turns before the Eevee player has his Eeveelutions ready, it has a good chance to win, else Eevees will probably do it.

But if Leafeon and Magnezone are the only negative matchups, TurnCruel is still a very good deck. There is no deck without bad matchups in the format, and I think average players don't know how to play against TurnCruel.

PLEASE play this against AMU. Put energy on my pokemon so that I can just play 1 of my 4 energy switch to use 200 damage blast again. Then next turn I play another one of my 4 energy switch to repeart the cycle.

Ha, AMU is very much in TurnCruel's favor. You can Healing Look, but I'll just Energy Split. And if you finall God Blast me, fine--I'll lay Lake Boundary if you have Snowpoint out and kill you. Healing Look won't heal Mesprit either, fi you read it. So you'll have to attack sometime.

l0l why would u play energy switch??? Thats funny, for one if you dont play energy pickup, then thats bad,and if you play both thats bad. TurnCruel dosent even have to move energy, Ill just spread with Lanturn and then KO with Lanturns doing 90.

This deck beats Kingdra, Lantur just doing 60 over and over, and Tentacruel takes away Kingdras energy from the discard and attaches to other pokes on the bench, setting up for the spread and KoTurnCruels favor, its already been tested.

I'm having a hard time seeing how its in your favor if I never need to have many energy in play. :/

Flygon if you don't mind, could you PM me your Turncruel list? I would like to test this matchup, and see how it goes. Right now I think AMU should have the advantage, but since I havn't been able to test it I'm not sure. If you send me the list I'll be sure to post the results of the testing.

My list is in the Deck Help forum named Halibek. I tested the matchup, TurnCruel taking away your energy pickups and just place damage on your tech Mightyena or Azelf, and just Azelf myself or abuse Froslass, which is why it beats AMU,Froslass and Lanturn.

I've even won in a game where the opponent had two fully loaded Mesprit Lv X. The damage stacked and stacked. In the end I still won. I've played match against Kingdra where they got up four Kingdra and two Claydol, and killed all but one of them at once. I wouldn't underestimate what TurnCruel can do.

That's not to say it's unstoppable--Magnezone is horrible and Leafeon is hard too, plus Torterra.

I've tested this against beedril and speedril just outspeeds this. 2 matches and still absol cant stop claydol from being played (i always get claydol in 3 turns!).

Maybe im not using a good turncruel list?

Its not about stopping claydol,it never is,its about hitting candy and trainers in speedrill, which happens alot, especially early game and during mid game. Then a built Lanturn can OHKO them for 4 with Bucks and you have no more resources.

Pokémon (21)
4 Absol SW
4-4 Lanturn LA
2-2 Tentacruel LA
2-2 Claydol GE
1 Spiritomb LA

Energy (14)
4 Call NRG
3 Basic [W]
7 Basic [L]

Trainer (25)
4 Bebe's Search
4 Roseanne's
4 Pokédex
4 Oak's Visit
4 Galactic's Mars
4 Super Scoop Up
1 Night Maintenance

This is my list and it works great. SSU is very good for pickup damaged pokémon and for do extra damage with Spiritomb. The number of Water Energy is correct.

4 energy switch is mondo overkill. it takes 3 shots from lanturns first attack, and one shot from his second (depending on snowpoint), all 3 fairies will have energy placed on them, and 3 lanturn shots pretty much is a win
