UK Nationals Confirmed - FK Had it first folks

... and I'm actually going to have spend a day with you people?

EDIT: I'm not doing well with misunderstandings today, so I'll point out this was a joke.

Well if you don't make the top x cut you could wizz off mid afternoon

Then it would only be like half a day :thumb:

I dare everyone in 15+ to wear Kish masks and make him nervous when he takes photos.

So, now we need to make a list on who's attending! So far, from 15+, scotland's representatives are myself, Alison W and Paul C (Fred E has chosen not to use his nationals invite due to his return to France). I still think Andy R has a chance to qualify assuming the Regionals don't clash with our exam period - would be great to see him get to Nats. My mentorship would be complete. :thumb:

Last years winners are likely to go.

A much more interesting question is you are allowed to have dual residency so that you can qualify for several nationals and then pick and choose between them later.

What counts is which country you live in full time (more than 50 % of the year, I'd guess), not your legal country of residence.

I'll no longer live in the UK by May, and I am French (exchange student). What's to become of me? :frown:

Fred, you could probably enter both if you wanted, although for some (i.e me :D) it may seem a little unfair.

You should still check with Carl though about this + if you're eligable to judge if not able to play.

P.s. Kish, you still didn't respond to my mask threat. Anyone got a good pic of him? =D

This is the question I submitted to POP, and it's now on the official FAQ site, lol

Q: I have an odd situation. At the moment, I live in the UK but only until June. I was hoping to be eligible for a trip in both the UK (because I'm a resident here) and in Holland (because I'm Dutch), but I have no idea how this will work out if they hold closed Nationals. I want to avoid being excluded from both Nationals—in the UK because I'm Dutch and in Holland because I live in the UK.
A: Players with dual residency would be eligible to play in multiple National Championships. For example, a United States citizen who is living abroad to go to school in Germany is eligible to play in the German National Championships, as he or she is a legal resident of Germany. However, if that player returned home for the summer in time for the U.S. National Championships, as a legal resident of the U.S. he or she would also be eligible to play in the U.S. National Championships. Note that this player would need to be able to provide proof of residency for both countries.

I can't play in both events after all, cos the Dutch Nats are May 28th so I'm going home for those, and that's before the English ones, which I'm very upset about, cos I wanted to play in both :p But at least we've got clarity now!

That was question from ©Anna aka Fireborn aka the best Dutch player (that I know of - and I mean she's the only one)

Ben looks like the official news is now the 10th.

Hi,

Unfortunately due to issues with Woburn Safari Park we have had to move the date of the Nationals. It will now be one week later on the 10th June 2006.

Full details of the nationals will be sent out later this week along with invitations to all those qualified players we are currently aware of.

Some of you may have realized this is the same day as the first England World Cup Football game, we are currently looking at providing coverage during the nationals but we are not sure if this will be allowed.

I hope this does affect your attendance of the nationals and look forward to seeing you all there.

Cheers

I hope not - you should make a choice what to concentrate on - Pokemon or footie!

Admittedly, I'm only saying this because Scotland didn't qualify...again...
