I've volunteered to judge at UK Nats but heard nothing back from TPfG.

Has anyone heard anything?

Who is planning on judging?

Anyone out there who was considering acting as judge/staff but has now given up on TPfG?

My list of given-ups is currently Martin B, and Martin G.

Hiya NoPoke... just thought I'd add my voice to the cry for help...

Please, if there's anyone out there who knows the Pokemon TCG inside out, and who's willing to put their skills at playing behind them for once, then put your name down here, or phone TPfG (hmmm.....)

IIRC, I thought TPfG were trying to do player registration themselves last year. Of course, that kinda lead to 2 and a bit hour delays. I hope its someone different this year, but hey, can't be too hopeful.

I've spread the word to Scottish potential judges, so we may get some response there. I'm playing this year - I've made that decision this year - but I may consider judging next year. Sorry I can't be of any more help. I hope you do end up sorting out more judges.

EDIT: That's Chalkey able to help if you want. If you don't have his e-mail addy, PM me and I'll let you know.

That's Pokemon forGotten - about the judges - well they have assumed that some or all of last years team will be judging from what I have been told.

Martin Griggs will not be judging as one box and one promo does not replace the £90 ($180+) he would lose by choosing not to work 6 hours overtime but rather to work for 12+ hours at Pokemon Nationals!

Stephen please play - you have done more than your fair share in the past - and the rewards this year as Carl told me 1 box and 1 Staff Promo are not enough. This year TO's and Judges have had to work harder than ever for less and less reward and support - I think it is time TPfG either reward Judges properly or reap the whirlwind!

Martin Banham will probably not Judge either so that's three judges down with the 2 Martins and PokemonSteve not judging.

One week to go and they really are showing why the are the UKs premier events organisers.. NOT!

Don't think it REALLY matters, does it? Judges are kinda pointless imo.

Anyways I'll do it, gonna need a free hat or sommat though, a box sounds a bit meh =/

Dom, don't worry. I'll give you a hat if you judge. :p

In all seriousness it is a bit shoddy this year overall, ain't it? Especially considering the whole ratings situation earlier this year and the Battle Road difficulties.

Like I've said, Chalkey is willing to judge should he be required, so that's something, but it is rather gutting that TPfG have put off Messrs. Griggs, Banham and Kish. I guess we'll find out the full effects of TPfG's leadership next weekend. I'm trying not to think about it - I just want to concentrate on playing for next weekend despite my AS Music exam the Monday after, :p

j/k lol,
Don't worry about the hat Cole :thumb:

I prolly will judge I mean I don't have a deck or anything, and I mean, this game needs a bit of sexyness. Some kind of uniform would be nice, whats the chances?

If you wanted to annoy everyone, you could borrow my Piggystall. :pokeball:

Hope it goes well judging or playing.

Its very dissapointing... I haven't heard anything from TPfG regarding judging and I've just had a phone call from Nigel who similarly has heard nothing at all.

You have to question if they want any judges at all!

Its time to step up to the plate.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

Sorry i meant, its time to step up to the plate professors!

Why pick on the professors? I fail to see how a lack of planning by any organiser constitutes any kind of emergency on my part. If Carl insists that professors have to judge I think he'd have a walk-out on his hands.

I promised myself that I would judge/help/staff/whatever alternate years. I wont break that promise. I don't regret making that promise but no one else is bound by it.. Roll on Sunday.

I might - I'd probably have a better chance of winning. :p

Well, we'll see how we cope with, like, 1 judge on the day. I hope it doesn't end up that way tho.
