Unown G

I'm a little confused on how Unown G works. I understood the "Guard" power to prevent ALL Special Conditions the Pokemon recieves. So can someone explain exactly how the Power works so i play it correctly? I've read some postings that indicate the Pokemon can be affected by a special condition.
