Unown G

Hi,

Just wanted to clarify Unown G. http://pokegym.net/gallery/displayimage.php?imageid=33245

It is my understanding that Unown G only blocks the effects of my opponent's attacks and not my own right? Thus, i could hypothetically use SF Mismagius' Crash Chant discarding my own Unown G to do more damage.

I cant seem to find this clarification/errata/correction online so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
