Greetings all, and welcome to our second Avatar Contest! A bit earlier than October, but we decided to move things up a bit. As the last contest took the theme of "Pokémon", this time we're going to be focusing more on the Trainers of Pokémon. We'll be opening up the Avatar forum in the Gallery for you to upload all your entries. The rules are as follows.








  1. The file must be no more than 80 x 80 in size, and must be a .gif, .png, or .jpg of no more than 19.5K
  2. The avatar should focus on this contest's theme, trainers of Pokémon. Professors, the various teams (Rocket, Magma, Aqua, et cetera), trainers, characters from the card game or series are all fine. Avatars not focusing on the theme will be deleted.
  3. There is a limit of 5 avatars per person.
Starting NOW, we will allow you to begin uploading your avatars. Uploading will be open for 2 weeks (Ending on Tuesday, September 20th, at 9 PM pacific time) before we allow you to begin voting for your favorite avatar. The avatars chosen will be added to the list of available avatars, and winners will receive the "Avatar Creator" title under their name. Also note that each image will be 'moderated' before it is allowed into the gallery. So, when you upload an image, it will not appear until a gallery administrator allows it.

Also note, avatars that are either 'trashy' or very low quality won't be accepted, and will be deleted. Trashy implies something inappropriate for the board. Drawing something in Imakuni style would not be considered trashy, because it's not inappropriate. Avatars that are so low quality that they appear to have badly distorted colors or very poor clarity will not be allowed either.

If you wish to retract an avatar, you must get in contact with myself via either PM, AIM, or e-mail.

Yes. We're going to be pretty flexible here. As long as the primary focus is the trainer, we'll likely allow it.
 
What happens if we already have avatar creator in our name? Would we get a 2x or 3x Avatar Creator or something like that?

Your title won't change. Although, I'll talk to Bulbasnore about it and see what we come up with.
 
Does it have to be our own, or can we swipe it off the internet/Card from somewhere?

BTW, why wasn't there one last year? Just didn't work out?
 
So we cannot use a plain illustration by Ken Sugimori and add a fancy backround to it? It MUST be from a TCG card?

You can do that. What we are specifically to avoid is people heading on over to google and bringing up someone else's art, and then posting that. If it's an illustration that has appeared on a card, you can use it. If you were, for example,to find a high resolution clear background version of Professor Oak, you could use that and add a background to it.

Anything you've either made, or has been used on a card, is acceptable. Even if you heavily edited what appeared on the card.
