Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

US Nationals 2011

That's a TERRIFIC date. It gets Nationals off the same weekend as Origins. I love that.

And it was announced in time to purchase the Origins Early Bird Badges!

Indy was great last year and my family is looking forward to Nationals there again.

Is that date confirmed? I don't see anything on the official site link there confirming July 8-10th as the dates...

Anyone else having trouble finding rooms for a family - 2 beds non-smoking? Some of the hotels (Crowne, Embassy) show no rooms available!

The data is shown on the website were you can scroll threw each of the events of the Championship Series under the Nationals Logo.

Oh, ok. Well, lesson learned from last year, book early and fast. Though what sucks is, if you're primarily a VGC player like me, you won't find out if you can win any travel allowance or paid since our events aren't held till like May, meaning by that time quite a few of the cheaper rates are gone >.>

Regardless though, I'm not paying for expensive fares to and from the convention center again, or last minute air fare >.>

I stayed at the Hyatt Regency last year, very nice hotel, hooked onto the conference center and across the street from Steak and Shake which is open really late for food anytime. Plus the mall is very close. Really nice hotel I would try there. It was cheaper then most the other hotels last year but a really nice hotel.

In the past we have decided to go and purchased our tickets and made hotel reservations early. Then my son won a trip at an event and Pokemon reimbursed the cost of our tickets.

If you are serious about going, go ahead and make the purchase when the prices are low. In the event you win, you won't be out any money.

Last year, Priceline gave me the Westin across the street from the Convention Center for $55/night. Hopefully, something similar will come up at some point...

Dave,
I was just sitting down to do some research on rates through Hotwire and Priceline. Will let the board know what I find this year. Hoping for the same great deals. Sometimes deals are better on those sites the closer you get though so you have to just keep checking.

Rooms do seem to be higher than last year but I did not book my trip until around March of last year I believe. Hopefully there is not another large convention there that same week or we are all going to be scrambling.

Thanks. The Hyatt website states - "The hotel is not available for your requested travel dates. It is either sold out or not yet open for reservations." So maybe I'm just too excited and trying too early.

I looked into it after getting a couple messages on here. That weekend is the Hoop it Up 3 on 3 basketball tournament. It's the worlds largest. Also starting the 11th is the Indianapolis Black Expo, which is huge. They have things going on the weekend before it starts usually so I can see a lot of people coming early for it. Other then that I haven't found anything else going on down there. So depending on how long your wanting to stay will depend on how easy rooms will be to find.

unfortunately most people will want to stay the 7th-10th. I have a bad feeling about this. I mean there are not many affordable hotels near the convention center, so driving to the Con each day might be what is needed for a lot of people.
