Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

US Nationals Moved...

And Houston and Dallas are bucking for something from the South.

I will quietly be happy now.

Vince

I like to travel to new places and back to places that I have enjoyed the visit. We were not going back to Columbus. We will make plans to go to St. Louis. Dallas and Houston both have more to offer as its cheaper to get here for most folks and we have more convention space and hotels. Here is a good chance for Missouri to tell us its "State Motto". Looking forward to going back to the Arch. Also do you still have some Moon Rocks?

P.S. who did your electoral votes go to this year? My map still says undecided.

will it be part of a bigger event like Origins, or will it be a self-contained entity? We definately won't make it this year, since we were going to swing by on our way home from vacation, but MO is not between SC and MI. my son will be bummed... but, 2010! We'll plan for it now.

No way will they cap it, not when they have a whole building to play with. At Origins they'd usually be limited to the back of the room in a roped off area. Now, they're going to have so much space they won't be able to use it all.

BTW Pop it would be nice to have something in the North  Someday. As long as Nats doesnt end up on the coasts and stays in the center of the U.S. moving it each year would be cool.

Just my opinion

I agree with you, if you mean north... east, but not sure why you're asking me.

People should capitalize POP, as it is an organization. POP is an abbreviation for Pokemon Organized Play. If he meant Pokemon Organized Play he should have said P.O.P., or at the very least POP. Pop is PokePop, the adored administrator.

Come on, people, don't be so lazy.

So what your saying is if we are supposed to call Pokemon Organized Play - POP
then by that same reasoning are supposed to refer to PokePop as - PP?

Or 'pop? That'd work (and it's what I use...)

At least Missourians can get to Nationals now!....But I'm in Mississippi. -_-. Still, what's so wrong with moving it? Someone's going to have trouble getting to it no matter where it is, so is it really that bad?

<I just say POP.>

No Columbus, No Ace

I'm excited, a lot of the people at origins were kinda weird. Not saying that Pokemon players aren't, but at least most of us dont dress up in weird, ugly, revealing costumes and mutter really funny and weird phrases out loud.

Alas, Columbus native THE ACE will almost certainly not be attending Nationals with the location move..

No, because POP is an acronym for POP. PokePop is one word, abbreviated as 'Pop, or Pop, for lazy people.

I for one am really excited about the new move. St Louis is a beautiful city with wonderful food. :p

I live in Atlanta and will be driving to St Louise for the week and plan on doing some sight seeing as well as laying the smack down on other players. Good move POP. :thumb:

Using Kayak.com, I just checked airfare for two people from San Francisco, CA to Columbus, OH and San Francisco, CA to St. Louis, MO flying out on June 25, 2009 and back on June 29, 2009.

If booked today, I would spend 2 x $280 for my son and me to fly roundtrip to Columbus, OH.

If booked today, I would spend 2 x $455 for my son and me to fly roundtrip to St. Louis, MO.

Columbus: $560 flights + $100 badges = $660 Nats.

St. Louis: $910 flights + $0 badges = $910 Nats.

Some might guess that because of the additional costs we would face, that I would like to see Nats continue to be held at Origins in Columbus. They would be wrong.

I applaud POP for moving Nats to St. Louis this year. I would love to see Nats move around the country to give different players a chance to attend Nats who might otherwise not be able to attend. Future cities to be considered: Denver ($226 RT), Chicago ($441 RT), Dallas ($372 RT), and any other major American city that serves as a major airline hub.

Thank you for making Pokemon Nationals a true Pokemon event, and eliminating the badge fee for the "free" event.

If anyone has info on cheaper flights from San Francisco to St. Louis, please post it. Charlie and I would love to attend Nats in St. Louis, MO.

I just rechecked Kayak and flights have dropped to $290-$320 each. St Louis Nats will be less expensive for this family than Columbus Origins/Nats! Thank you POP!
