Stigma,
First, thanks for saying I play well, this means a lot.
Second, about winning on time, you got it all very wrong.
There's a difference between winning on time and winning when time is called.
Let me explain:
Winning on time means that if there was no time limit, you would have lost. Otherwise, you can drag the game to win.
The opposite was true for me in both top 8 and top 4.
In top 8 I was about to LOSE on time, when I came back (See Empoleon Person post above).
When time was called I just have barely evened the prizes. If time was called a minute before I would have lost. I eventually won only because my opponent was a good sport and decided not to stall and win on time.
In top 4, my opponent was late so he could not win on time. Before he realized it, he thought that winning on time was his only option so he tried to slowly 8-pile my deck between games to make time pass. Again, time was on his side, and he wanted the time to pass quickly and the 60 min. period to end, I needed more time to beat him.
In both games time was not on my side but rather against me. Meaning, I won despite time being called, not because of it.
Understand the difference here? You claim I won because time was called. Please check your facts.
About luck:
Sure, I had luck - not in fainting spell, where I flipped 1 heads for every 2 tails (33%), but in other aspects.
Luck is an intentional part of the game, and everyone who wins any Pokemon tournament has to have some luck on their side.
The term lucksack, however, sort of says that someone counted on luck rather than skill to win. Chances are that you can be lucky in one game, and sometimes for an entire tournament, but to be lucky a whole year is a bit unbelievable, don't you think?
