Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

US TFG Packaging

I am almost POSITIVE that when I was at Target yesterday, I saw the Trading Figure Game there.
I didn't check to see what it was, but I was almost positive that it was the TFG.

I guess I was wrong, if they haven't come out yet.

The game doesn't look that intriguing though, to me at least.

Benlugia and Waliken are working on an article for the TFG. We have images of most of the figures and will be posting them soon(?). Hopefully someone will can get some shots of the D/P Promos.

I'll try to get those shots today.

Ben, Waliken and Hagrid, let us know what else you need. There is a batch upload if you have lots of pix. PM me.

Wow, the figures look cool, but after see that I am gonna not get any I think. I am absolutely amazed that not only does it not have rarities, but it also the figures that would have people after them are in the window that you can see. That just frightens me. Oh well, If they had kept it the same I would of got some but, now I dont think I am gonna. Oh well. :frown:

yeah. wrestling the packaging of my european figures was a paiiiiinnn. also, unless the packaging is wrong or something, it looks like the spinners will be coming with the american boosters. i know that the european ones didn't.

article should be up either tonight or tomorrow.

Let me just say....WAIT FOR THE RELEASE IN THE US beofr eyou make a HUGE mistake like I did to pay basically double to be 1 of the 1st ones to have it way back when....lol My son LOVES Hero Clicks & so on like that so I knuw this would be something he would really enjoy! So I looked online & found that they werent out in the US yet, but that didnt stop me! I ordered the big Starter set & he had them for Christmas. We LOVE them! Now that we went to Nationals & found out that by playing the demo, we was playing it WAYYY wrong...lol The rules arent really clear enough as we have already expressed our concerns about the TFG to Pete DeShaw at Regionals. I will say this, for the younger kids, it is alot of fun! :thumb: This is something I can get to sit down with him & play because it is a VERY EASY game to play & it doesnt take much to elarn it the right way! Myself, & my daughter was doing the demos at Nationals & I think the younger kids really enjoyed it while the older crowd seems to think it was pretty cool themselves! I will purchase the entire set as Ive already seen them all & man, their are some really cool ones out there! I will also WARN you, THEY BREAK VERY EASILY (which this was brought up to Pete also) SO KEEP THEM IN A SAFE TOOL BOX CONTAINER OF SOME SORT LIKE WE HAVE TO KEEP THEM FROM HARMS WAY! I bought Dylan a really cool Light Green colored Tool Box @ Wal-Mart for like $6 I think it was. It is well worth the investment to keep them in something that they can not get smushed! The pieces are VERY delicate & if you misuse them or dont treat them as such, you can forget about it. Thank goodness the 2 that have broken. broke to where we can repair them. So BECAREFULL! I heard they were selling at Nationals & some of the parents that were with us purchased them on Friday for 1 prices, then they were selling them on Sat for another price....lol So they are a little pricey, but if you pay attention & shop around, you can get them for a reasonable price just like you can get everything else!
So as a mom who has played them, bought them, & a parent of a 10 who LOVES them, I give them a :pokeball::pokeball::pokeball::pokeball::pokeball:'s rating!! I cant wait until the rest are out & available to purchase, because we WILL OWN THE ENTIRE SET!

looks like some lessons have been learned after the European Release..

The booster packs were impossible to get into and not knowing at all what you were getting was hard to swallow at $10 a booster for the doubles.

I hope the prices are lower for you guys and gals and the single boosters are priced at a level that makes them easier on your pocket :D

These look better then european versions which has been out for 6 months.
No rareities ***.
Least it aint like bandai and d the naruto ccg in europe.

Mod note: PLEASE DON'T QUOTE THE ENTIRE ARTICLE WITH PICTURES!

I'm eager to start collecting these. I picked up a european booster at origins, and think the figures are really well detailed. At least with the lack of rarity, we'll be able to actually get figures without getting consistant doubles.

Wow, America will get its own TFG ^^ Great. We've had it for a while already here in Finland and I can tell you, it's awesome. Doesn't beat TCG, though... But the game is really interesting ja figures look so wonderful! I have about 12 figures, including a cute little Raichu and 4 of Murkrow :p Two of them are Pearl versions so they are white- Does the American version have the Pearl and Crystal figures? I think not, because the're are no rarities either... And those special figures are rare.

It's so unfair that American people can get DP starters, too... They're not available in Finland, or at least not yet... I hope they will arrive here, too. And figures in our booster packs are hidden, so it's all about luck... That explains my Murkrow crowd :p

Well, something good, something bad... But try it, it's really a good game.

The word from PUI was that they decided not to include them in the US release. The majority of the feedback that they received was that the players preferred the painted figures.

So, is anybody gonna give this a shot?

When the figures were sold here in our country and I played several times, the game was quite interesting because it give a lot of different possibilities in gameplay. One time my Feraligatr was sent to the pokemon center 3 times by one Mudkip then Pikachu then Murkrow (I spun a miss on that ).

The objective is simple of course. To reach the goal circle of your opponent. The trainer cards are for the trainer figure. Spin it in able to use it. If it landed on miss your turn ends.

Anyway, I will let the artcle writers post the rules but basically here we are now familiar with it. We are actually waiting for its OP after Worlds.

My only comment is hopefully they make more customize maps for further strategy and excitement.

Also why did they have Chimchar, Piplup and Turtwig:frown:? Oh well...... :pokeball:

Hmm...wow.
Interesting.
The lack of rarities... has both pros and cons.
As for the "visible figure" thing, I seriously hope that the single-pack six possible visible figures are different from the double/triple-pack six possible figures. That would make it ok. If it's the same six... everyone is going to have a LOT of those six figures.
I like that we get those promo DP figures. Hope they're good.

I really hope this game takes off like the TCG did.

fyi: unless you can get european starter sets, do not get european boosters, as they don't have the spinner bases and will be unplayable.

there was a vendor at sdcc selling european product to people who had demo'd with us and were very unhappy that they'd not be able to play with them until the US version comes out in september...
