USA gets D/P, all others not! Or, next set is...?

Hard to say NoPoke. I guess it wouldn't be much different than the cost of shipping to the UK. Of course the box price is significantly different though.

for some very strange reason shipping costs from the UK to the USA are more expensive than the other way round... must be uphill all the way

So is the set even CONSIDERED an expansion? It's not really an expansion to anything other than the modified format. .

How can we know it will even expand the Modified format? Despite being employed to the distributor in my country, I have absolutely no inside info about Epic Collection, so this is pure assumption, BUT: I think Epic Collection will

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

contain cards from Deoxys On. Only. That would clear all the questions about how they can release it only in Europe, it doesnt disturb the format for Worlds, and it would allow PUI to put in some really popular cards from today's format, all gathered into one expansion, which would make for an expansion that's buyable here in Europe, but not really needed in the US. Just my two kroners (and that's MORE than two cent! :0).

yea, i think prereleases are slowly being axed from existance anyway, so no pre's for EC.

If my above assumption turns out to be true, it would make sense to do no prereleases. No new cards = nothing new to "preshow".

(...curse that error which lets me post only a specific maximum number of characters in each Reply. >____<)

which just goes to show how someone has found a way to make every good or service more expensive in the UK. I was comparing box prices and made me thankful for the internet...

Spot on. Exactly what I think...

If Epic Collection is just DX On cards, I think I'm gonna puke. Same format ALL THE WAY TO WORLDS? No thanks.

Well, I of course believe that EC will be DX-On cards and that DP will be released in the USA at the same time and thus be legal for Worlds. European players will just have to get some DP cards, maybe as prizes like the German website suggested.

Why should Epic not be RS-on cards?
It says on the German website, cards of the EX series, which is RS-on.
With the current reprints of Blaziken, Gardevoir etc. it's very good possible more cards of RS - TRR can be reprinted.

Here's hoping you're right

I dont know if this has been said yet but why dont all the other countries just get all the non diamond and pearl pokemon lines from DP & DP2 and then they get all the lines with diamond and pearl pokemon in them in their next set. If you divide it out like that it creats two almost equally sized sets

just a thought tho, wont that make the pre releases difficult having the basics for some evolution lines in one set and then having the babies/evolutions in the next, as much as i like the idea i dont think imo its viable :frown:

no take every line with a 4th gen pokemon in it and put the whole line in the second set, it creats two sets one with about 107 and the second with about 111 (i cant remember if i left the unowns in both sets) the only problem with my idea is that one set would have no lvX and the other would have 6

The tough part about that is that the Lvl X cards would be devalued then due to more of them given in the second set in Europe. Of course that may be a good thing for Europe, since the boxes of cards they get there would tend to have more of the Lvl X cards. Then it's possible we may see a reverse grey market. As much as it sounds great to some people, it creates headaches to others. I'm sure POP and PUI have gone through all the scenarios, and picked what would be the best solution for all. I figure, if you have to have a stagered release schedule, this is the best way of doing it. Bite the bullet, get it over with in one shot, so we all can get on with our lives.
