Venusaur viable?

Hi, i haven't played in a while but I want to get back into the game and maybe play in upcoming tournaments (battleroads, etc). I just went to a League today at Artifex card shop and I spotted the Venusaur from Secret Wonders selling for only 2 bucks each. I wanted to make a cheap deck, quick (plus i love Venusaur) so I bought a 4-4-4 line of venusaur (for less than 12 bucks total ). Can anybody suggest combos I could play with it, as well as useful trainers, energies, stadiums?

4-3-4 line of Venusaur is optimum with Rare Candies. I'd suggest also implementing 2 GE Sceptile and one P4 Sceptile, if you can get your hands on the latter. Their body/powers are amazingly effective with other grass types.

Also, Dawn Stadium from Majestic Dawn should be top priority if you're running DRE or Scramble. If not, Crystal Beach. Windstorm if you play the Sceptile.

Venesar is the card that never want to dies and just makes them be afected by conditions. I say play 1-1 sunflora, 2-2 claydol, 4 candy, 4-3-4 venesar, and a lot of cards that make it hard to kill like buffer piece, dawn stadium, leftovers, maybe a health energy or 2.

Celebi MT can be a good starter for a Venusaur deck: T2 30 damage and switch the Energy to a benched Venusaur.

I would use plenty of Warp Points and Switches because of the horrible retreat costs. Blastoise d would be a good call if there were a lot of Magmortar or Infernape in your area.

Claydol speeds this deck x2 because of the regeneration. it's too slow without it. try it both ways then post which you like and I'll bet you want Claydol.

Venasaur Dialga Lv X.
If you lose your turn, you don't really care since you deal damage without attacking.
But if THEY lose their turn, that poison damage can add up, especially if you have Weezing GE out.
It won't be winning anything big anytime soon, but you can certainly annoy people with it.
