Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Vileplume ________

A Japanese guy I knew played Dchomp with Luxray, Mesprit, 2 Azelfs, and 1-1-1 Vileplume.

God...

I played Exeggcutor/Palkia/Luxray/DGX/Plume/Mesprits/Chatot G/M2X once. That deck was actually crazy good when it set up. And I mean CRAZY good.

I think lots of Vileplume based lists are inconsistent due to the use of 4 Spiritombs + -2-2-2 VP = 10 cards that are either dead draws late game or don't help you setup as you'd like. I think the best approach is to use a Spiritomb/Sableye split to setup these decks and not worry about the lock right away. Now for SP you want it from T1, but most decks you'd be fine with T4 or so as long as you get setup otherwise.

Vilegar works because the lock has synergy with the Poltergeist attack. Drapion works because the lock has synergy with the no retreating/poisoning lock. Other decks lack these synergies, but if you can build any evolution deck with only supporters and prevent most other decks from playing 10-15 of their cards, you will have an edge in the matchup. I think however that it is not worth it without some additional synergy working for you here.
