Vileplume ex (Base Set – Hidden Legends)

Pokemon: 17

3 Abra (BS 43)
3 Oddish (TR 63)
2 Alakazam (BS 1)
2 Cleffa (N1 20)
2 Gastly (VM 60)
3 Vileplume ex (HL 100)
2 Aerodactyl (FO 1)

Energy: 13

8 Grass Energy (BS 99)
1 Cyclone Energy (SKR 143)
4 Double Colorless Energy (BS 96)

Trainers: 30

2 Switch (BS 95)
4 Computer Search (BS 71)
4 Item Finder (BS 74)
4 Rare Candy (SS 88)
4 Bill (BS 91)
2 Gust Of Wind (BS 93)
1 Pokemon Center (BS 85)
2 Nightly Garbage Run (TR 77)
4 Professor Oak (BS 88)
1 Lass (BS 75)
2 Mysterious Fossil (FO 62)

Strategy:

Attack with Vending Machine Gastly, which has free retreat cost and can stop trainers for 1 colorless energy. Put up Vileplume ex within the next couple turns and attack with Vileplume ex the rest of the game. Try and get an Aerodactyl and Alakazam on the bench as soon as possible. Pokemon Center works well with Alakzam's Damage Swap pokemon power.

At this time in the Base Set - Hidden Legends format Rare Candy could bypass Aerodactyl’s prehistoric power.

If people are playing Wobbuffet (Sandstorm), you can tech in Vileplume (Expedition). If people are playing lots of cyclone energy, add an extra Vileplume ex.

as suggestion, i think if you are going to trust on that gastly, you must play an entire play set (x4).

Cleffa is inneded, i would not play cleffa if u already have 4 oaks, u can also put professor elm, in order to do not discard your hand istead. The colourless energy are also replaceables by full heal energy or rainbow energy, because you are not using lots of colourless energy costs for atacks. Rainbow energy also provides psy energy, ir order u use alakazam's confuse ray if ur opponents has weakness. Or fourse, you forgot kadabra. 4 item finder is just too much, its really rare to use 4 item finder in a match. u already have 4 cpu search so u dont need 4 if.
I dont like expeditiomn too much but if u want u can also change nightlys by town volunteers, they are much better.
Also, i think (this is personal) u must have a balance betwen discard cards and recycle cards, so 3-3-3 for nightly oak and item finder.

My list would be something like this:

Pokemon: 19

3 Abra (BS 43)
3 Oddish (TR 63)
2 Alakazam (BS 1)
4 Gastly (VM 60)
3 Vileplume ex (HL 100)
2 kadabra
2 Aerodactyl (FO 1)

Energy: 13

6 Grass Energy (BS 99)
1 full heal energy
4 psy energy
2 rainbow energy

Trainers: 28

3 Switch (BS 95)
4 Computer Search (BS 71)
3 Item Finder (BS 74)
4 Bill (BS 91)
2 Gust Of Wind (BS 93)
3 Pokemon Center (BS 85)
3 Nightly Garbage Run (TR 77) (or town volunteers instead)
3 Professor Oak (BS 88)
3 Mysterious Fossil (FO 62)

19 pokemos is too much, but if u have abra and alakazam u must have kadabra or breeder. I prefer kadabra because free 50 atack.

I have to disagree with you on 2 things

Rare Candy and Double Colorless Energy have to stay in order for this deck to work. However, the 4 Gastly and extra switch ideas are not bad ones. Cleffa's really there if your opponent goes first and could give more options.

Side note: Elekid (Neo Genesis) could also be a counter against Wobbuffet.

rare candy is exactly the same as pokemon breeder i supose... in that case u dont have to play gloom or kadabra. I still disagree with 4 item finder, its too much, u can put more energy card bc you play too many pokemon.
4 bill are core. I think all decks MUST have at least 3 bill.

As coment only, for deck stucking , vileplume ex is good, but SLOWKING is ridiculusly kick-***.

This is a more updated list:

Pokemon: 19

2 Alakazam (BS 1)
2 Gastly (VM 60)
2 Aerodactyl (FO 1)
2 Cleffa (N1 20)
3 Vileplume ex (HL 100)
4 Oddish (TR 63)
1 Vileplume (EXP 31)
1 Elekid (N1 22)
2 Abra (BS 43)

Energy: 14

4 Double Colorless Energy (BS 96)
6 Grass Energy (BS 99)
2 Cyclone Energy (SKR 143)
2 Full Heal Energy (TR 81)

Trainers: 27

1 Imposter Oaks Revenge (TR 76)
3 Erika (G1 16)
1 Gust Of Wind (BS 93)
2 Switch (BS 95)
2 Oracle (SKR 138)
3 Computer Search (BS 71)
3 Item Finder (BS 74)
1 Town Volunteers (AQP 136)
4 Rare Candy (SS 88)
1 Pokemon Center (BS 85)
2 Mysterious Fossil (FO 62)
4 Professor Oak (BS 88)

I added supporters in case of a mirror match. Might need to add Gloom (Hidden Legends) for that though as well.

It is in the current Unlimited format, but not when you are playing with the Base Set - Hidden Legends sets and playing with the rules they used at the time. Older formats are best played as they were in the past. :thumb:

Correct. They were only in 4 of the Black and White sets, and only two Ace Specs caused older cards to be played differently in Unlimited (Computer Search and Master Ball.)
