New Vileplume revealed

Found this on pokébeach and here's the card

Vileplume - Grass - HP140
Stage 2 - Evolves from Gloom

Ability: Allergy Panic
As long as this Pokemon is in play, all Weaknesses are x4.

[G][C][C][C] Pollen Spray: 50 damage. The Defending Pokemon is now Poisoned and Asleep.

Weakness: Fire (x2)
Resistance: Water (-20)
Retreat: 3

Playable? Seems like one could combo this with a bunch of Pokémon that do medium damage (50) for a low energy cost (preferably 1).

4x weakness is pretty awesome and could reel in some of these huge HPs. Suddenly, all you need to do is 50 damage to OHKO every EX. (minus 300HP)

rayquaza would be good with vileplume because it can ohko dragon pokemon with one PP or altaria.

But i dont know if vileplume is good vs other types.Often 2x weakness is enough to ohko most pokemon

Stage 2 Bench-sitter. That is what one has to realize. Altaria is a Stage 1, so I can see how that works out. As a Stage 2, that means turn 2 is the soonest it hits the field, and with the damage output we already have, is it worth quad damage over double damage?

I am thinking "no". Unless we also gain a means to change Weakness, I am thinking this is only working as a surprise deck, if that.

If we get something that changes Weakness, Vileplume itself might work.

What's also important is that a lot of Pokemon that have Weaknesses that work to their disadvantages tend to be OHKOed by those Weaknesses with x2, making x4 not that helpful.

Note that this isn't always true, but it generally is.

I shudder to think how Mewtwo wars will go if people play this...

Now instead of 5 nrgy or 4 nrgy with a pluspower. It will be 3 nrgy or two with a pluspower! Yay:thumb::thumb::thumb:!! It has 140 hp so ur most likely gonna two shot it unless u have something crazy like the new hydreigon from DRX, but doesn't shut off trainers so it will be catchered ever so effortlessly.

Any fire type that does 40 damage+Catcher=Dead Vileplume
Catcher+Anything that can kill an oddish=No Vileplume
However, this card could work, if someone found a way to keep it safe.....

Why is this good again?

Maybe you don't understand how good x4 is. Super Effective 50 damage is now 200, which KOs anythign in the format with eviolite attached. That is rediculous, and will completely change meta math. It will make healing decks like the nats winning Hydregion a lot worse. And the format should be slow enough where Vileplume is viable.

Obviously though, it has to abuse weakness, and abuses yours too. SO not broken beyond all belief. Definately gonna be cool though.

@GSwab: The format will be much slower, and without PONT and Junk Arm, holding on to Catchers won't be as easy. As far as fire types that do 40, there really isn't much that you can just stick in any old deck, especially with such little energy acceleration/movement. And do we no that ths Oddish has 40 HP? It could be buffed up by now, since this VIleplume has 140 hp.

You always have Gothitelle if you want to stop your opponents but not yourself from playing Items.

With Vileplume, mewtwo is now DCE + pluspower to KO another mewtwo with 0 energy attached. Terrakion + pp would retaliate for 160 damage without something before KO'd the turn before. This sets up a lot of interesting combos imo.

I don't think he's that great...I'd have to see what would combo with him in the set....I'm getting away from EX based decks anyways...

Some ideas about this Vileplume:
-Need to protect Vileplume. One way to protect it from being attacked and killed by the opponent would be to use disruption(e.g. both Hammers and Sableye).
-In my opinion, using trainer lock in the BW-On format with this Vileplume doesn't work too well because it doesn't let you exploit your opponents' weakness(es). (unless its a tech, but that is probably going to take up a lot of deck space.)
-To abuse the opponent's 4x Weakness, you could use Eeveelutions(as said in the other thread), you could utilize basics similarly to six corners, etc.
-This Vileplume has high retreat, so Darkrai EX, a lot of Switch or some other method is needed to keep your opponent from just dragging it active.
-Heavy Ball

@Shino Bug Master:
Catchers are going to be just as hard as Rare Candy to get out of your deck. Without Rare Candy, you can get Vileplume out on turn 3 at best. Vileplume is a stage 2 benchsitter. It is an easy target for the opponent to kill. However, I agree that this card has a lot of potential.

Obviously someone hasn't heard about Skyla.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. Sure X4 weakness is awesome, but I'd not convinced of its practicality. X2 already tends to knock out most things as it stands anyway, with some exceptions, but those are generally solved by Plus Power. Additionally you'd need an entire deck built around getting specific types out, which is no simple task. Of course if they decide to reprint Porygon-Z LA then I'd be more interested.
