Slops for the event:

Yes, I know that decision surprised a lot of people there, but there's a few reasons for that.

1. I didn't really have the time to prepare my deck. Between work, spending time with my family, and playing The Beatles Rock Band, I didn't have a whole lot of free time. I did bring the deck I was planning on playing, but after a few 'for fun' games, I realized I probably made the right decision.
2. I actually wanted to see how my Masters division League players would fare against other decks that didn't involve a certain UFO-like Pokemon. (yes, I've been playing that thing since Regionals! If anyone can guess the Pokemon, you're in the zone!)

Other than that, I was actually pleased with the turnout. I was also very impressed by one of my League players, Matt S., who held his own against Luke R. in the final round, but lost, unfortunately. This was his very first premier event, and to have him go into overtime against a player like Luke with one prize left each really surprised me. Had Matt's Honchkrow G not been prized, he probably would have won.

Hopefully I'll be more prepared and ready to play at Warrenton, that is, If I go.

Sorry, Mark, gotta disagree w/ you. "made the right decision"??? Absolutely nothing on the line here... It was a Battle Roads! For the k-value, it might as well be a league tourney. These tourneys are about having fun playing "whatever"--rankings are so meaningless right now. So, if you totally fail and 0-5 you've lost so few points, it just doesn't matter.

That's why I LOVE BRs!!!! (So, if you come to ANY remaining BRs, I expect you to play, k? :thumb:)

He mentioned droping the Electric tech in there WAY back before Nats I think.

Scary thought of that deck being IMPROVED UPON!

Hopefully, my absolutley unprepared family will get a chance to show up Saturday and struggle to break even ... LOL

But... wouldn't you have to LOSE a couple to be matched up against Tim F ?

ahahahahahaha

Just kidding man

Weren't you the poor soul who sold ALL his Leafeon X , Claydols, and Uxies in anticipation of a ROTATION ?

(somebody's gonna be a Regular at league this year .. LOL! )

I'm the big bald guy Mr. W. We played @ MD States, I ran T-Tar. I DID sell our Claydols in anticipation of the rotation, but that's it. Not too bad off. I can borry a couple from my man Ben if necessary. Uxie just doesn't do it for me!

I asked about you at Regionals. Ben was like "he's done until next season. He sold his Leafeons, Uxies, Claydols... etc" I was like DOH  !!!

If only League would have promos of useful cards like Uxie and Claydol. Oh wait, I just got the league kits...

I might not be at Fairfax after all. Still trying to decide on that one.
:nonono:

I'll update the website later tonight, but as of this post the prereg list for Fairfax is at 53. We should be fine up to 70. While that may look like a big number, we won't need to ask anyone to bring chairs :thumb:.

I expect double-time deck checks, Timmy or else I'll sick Courtney and Aaron on ya!!

This just in:
Since Fairfax is THE dominant Mid Atlantic Battle Roads location in terms of attendance, you get an EXTRA big deck box as a door prize!! Yup, you guys get the "Jumbo" Arceus card case as a door prize to a lucky winner!

That Ben, he sometimes has trouble keeping things straight! Seriously, good luck to you, the Missus, and the youngun this season! I'm sure we'll see you around!

I should be there, but it's pretty possible that I'll end up oversleeping, even though Tim was gracious enough to send me a set of very specific instructions detailing how I might take a bus from GMU to Fair City Mall. Guess I'll set some alarms and see how it goes.

It looks like I will be at Fairfax after all, just finished prereg and I'm ready to go.

Word! See you there, bud.

I recommend one of those alarm clocks that has the bells with the hammer between them. :thumb:
