Wailord moveset

So im thinking of raising a Wailord soon, so I decided to plan ahead before actually rasing it. Here is what I have as far as a moveset goes (only 3 moves out of 4)

Surf
Amnesia
Rest
???

If anyone can help me out with a fourth move, I would really appreciate it

I was thinking of Rollout or Earthquake so i have some fighting power against Electric Types. Good or Bad idea?
 
I say good. Except that if you use earthquake in a two on two, make sure that it will not devastate your partner.
My Wailord knows Surf, Earthquake, Rest, and Ice Beam.
 
Bad idea. Wailord is better used with special attacks, if you insist on giving it attacking moves. EQ and Rollout suck on it. And why would you give Wailord mixed attacks? Thats just stupid. Either use physical attacks or special attacks, almost never both. BTW, even if you gave Wailord EQ, Electrics could still easily OHKO it with a simple thunderbolt.
 
Incorrect, Wailord has enough hp to live through a thunderbolt. Plus, giving a pokemon mixed attacks helps to combat the many types that you could be against.
 
You don't seem to understand what mixed attacks means. If you used both physical and special attacks, then you must also split your EVs to fit both attacks, or weaken one. Using different types of attacks that are all special isn't bad, but using both physical and special attacks is. And I suppose a Wailord could survive a bolt, but he couldn't survive 2, and his physical attack is low enough that even if he had EQ he probably couldn't knock out an electric, and they could get in a 2nd bolt.
 
Surf is worth the extra damage. Surf has a power of 142 with STAB, while Water Pulse has a power of only 90. Since Wailords sp.atk is pretty mediocre I really suggest Surf. And BTW, Amnesia on him is pretty pointless, all they have to do is pull out a physical sweeper and hes dead either way.
 
lol. You don't even know what EVs are. Go to gamefaqs, then find the R/S master trainer guide. It will explain everything, and revolutionize the game for you.
