Wait a minute...Mothim (SW) is GOOD!

Just reading this and its similar to Scizor(SF)in that its ATK can do 70 for 2 and has free retreat.

Weak to fire (no bigey) but resistent to Fighting (Macheap).

Most of the Burmys have Powers that let you power them up so You can Ko stuff T2 if you get the set up.

Lastly, you can use powers with it so its not restricted like Scizor/ Cherrim

Any thoughts?

More importantly, any ideas on how I can get damage on my guys so I can use Raging Scales quicker?

I used this in a torterra deck back before great encounters and it saved the day a couple of times. If you use rare candy on the first turn and have it damaged it does 110 damage turn 2.

unown P+mothim+gyarados MT... mothballz FTW.

U sir are a GENIUS. I' bringing this deck back now that we have rainbow energy

Wait a minute, a stage one who maxes out at 70 damage, has 80 hp, and needs to be weakened to attack well is TERRIBLE.
=/

Its only bad if you dont know how to play it. I see a 80HP grass type that works with Cherrim, has free retreat, a basic form that attaches free energy and can donk if you time it right.

I tried a Mothim/Cresselia X/Unown P deck awhile back... It was good, but it didn't have enough acceleration. Mothim is one of those cards where you go, "oh snap, this is good, but it doesn't really fit anywhere."

First of all, Cherrim isn't a main attacker stupid, its a support pokemon with the ability to attack if needed.
His basic form has 40 hp. Start vs a Sableye sometime, or have your opponent go first with an Uxie. Its going to be FUN.

He can donk, so what? So can Wormada Sand Cloak, donk cards only work if they have long term staying power and damage ability. Mothim has niether. Free retreat doesn't make up for it, and a semi useless power off a 40 HP BASIC certainly doesn't make up for it, considering he only needs 2 energy to attack.

He's terrible, period.

Oh yeah. Respect is good. Flaming is not.

don't give me credit for it, people came up with it way before me.

And I happily respect respectable people.

I'm still waiting for someone to even address the uselessness of having a deck based on or including a guy with basically 70 hp who maxes out at 70 damage, why wouldn't you use Uxie Lv X, he only does 10 less, has 10 more hp, has a useful basic, and helps you setup.

Mothim isn't great, but it isn't bad either. It's kinda in the middle.

With Cherrim and Shaymin, Mothim does gain survivability and strength, but it clogs the bench

Mothballs is an excellent Deck in terms of playability i would place it as a tier two deck but only if the correct player plays it. The deck is very easy to setup and is reasonably consistent if built correctly. the biggest problem in he deck is that Mothim only has 80 HP but that's not too much of a downside when you consider that Gyarados has 120 HP to help back him up.

I think this deck got a boost w/ the advent of Rainbow energy and broken time space. Not to mention there's Uxie for quick draw. Gyaraods is good, but I'm going to replace w/ Cherrim so he helps back up Mothim.

This is an entirely CASUAL deck idea BTW. I don't plan on running this at Nats

Mothballs is a tier 2 deck if you COMPLETELY factor out the existence of Dialga G Lv.X.
Even without Dialga G it's never tier 2, not even tier 3.
Of course it's a combo and you can play it, but it is a fun deck and can't compete with the metagame no matter what.

Kricketune does 80 damage, thanks to Azelf it has no longer any problem with prized Kricketots, and with the new Kricketune it can even continue to do high damage in lategame. It's boosted by Cherrim and Shaymin just as Mothim is. Except for the free retreat and the fighting resistance, Kricketune is superior to Mothim in any way. But still, I didn't see someone playing Kricketune this season.

It's good and fast, you can respond every turn with no energy on the field by attaching from your hand and then to Burmy. Problem is, you need to keep Burmy down most of the time instead of Mothim. Not only does it get in the way of Cosmic Power, but Burmy only has 40 HP... and a Power. Gengar messes it up, Manectric, Magmortar, and even a random Giratina would be tough. Mothim only has 70 HP, basically. HP is a huge issue. The grass Wormadom helps alot, with 120 HP, but Dialga hurts that too.

I used to play it, not with Gyrados but on its own. Got me 4th at a BR lol. It's fast and hits hard if you can avoid a T1 donk on your 40 HP basic =/ Even if you play Gyrados, Magikarp with 30 HP isn't much better.

Mothim has 80, but I still see your concern. I'm using a couple of Cynthia's feelings to cope with the inevitable donks, but I like the speed burmy brings w/ his power.

This is a card that is respectably decent, but nothing worthy or anything, just like Kabutops SW(I think it's SW)

They are playable, but nothing extremely competitive like Dialga or Gechamp. Just a fun deck to play.
