Wal-Mart Employee KILLED due to Black Friday Crazyness!!!

It's bad enough a Guy was killed by the stampede. But the Customers were ****** when they were told they had to leave due to the death. Many complained that they had been outside since Thursday Morning, and were mad that they had to leave. They are reviewing the Video Tapes, and i hope they nail those that knocked him over and Trampled him to Death. Getting a deal on items is one thing, but that's no excuse to kill someone over the Bargains. Or be so heartless as to get mad when you are asked to leave due to the death of an Employee because of out of control Customers.

They won't put the guy who ran over him in jail, they'll probs charge him for Manslaughter and give him day justice. Sad really to think he won't be put away.

I heard about this, pathetically sad.

Ummmmmm can someone explain what Black Friday is???? I'm from the UK and we don't have it... and to be honest after reading this, I'm PRETTY GLAD we don't.

Black Friday is the day after the US holiday Thanksgiving.
This is traditionally the start of the Christmas shopping season.

many stores have big sales/discounts/ ect.

after reading this, i think that the one who trampled him should not be the only one to go to jail, but also the manager who put the guy there, and apparently didn't take measure to increase security.

What is so sad about something like this happens is people get upset about it then nothing is done to change it. I'm all for a good buy but this went way beyon that.

OMG! I just couldnt believe it!

We go faithfully every year, my 2 older kids & myself & weve NEVER encounter anything...But then again, I plan my stratigy & Im never in a staore longer than 30 minutes to have anything happen!

Actually, we got cought on some footage Friday morning at our local Toys R Us! We were the 1st in line & I had 2 extra kids with me. I couldnt imagine anything happening. Ive trained my kids well & tought them what to do, how to act, & what NOT to do & Thankfully weve been safe!

Its such a sad thought to know that something of this nature could & does happen on days like this! I know the 2 gentlemen who were behind us were HORDING games just to go put them on ebay just as soon as they got home! That makes me just as SICK!! Funny thing is, I honestly know 1 of the guys through his wife, he drives a truck w/handicap plates, ALWAYS rides in the lil scooters when he shops due to his size & saposidly heart condition, but after trampeling over my heels with his cart...I dont believe for 1 minute this IDIOT has any heart problems what so ever! I wish the Disability companies were out in FULL FORCE! It just made me sick!

Anyways...here is my video if anyone cares to watch...lol Once you pull it up in the still shot, you will see my daughter in the left corner waving. Were about a minute & 25 seconds into the video, after the Fairview Heights Toys R Us footage. Were the line, my kids are all at the front of the door as we were 1st in line. My daughters the Pink jacket silly one & you can see my head pop up for a sec & Im waving...lol I wasnt going to but I had to wave just once...lol

Well, that brings up an interesting dilemma. Who do you charge for this, when the security cameras probably show a huge throng of people rushing this poor guy, can you really pick out every single person in the crowd. There isn't just one person here, there's a crowd. Then, can you even blame each person who was trampling? If they stopped moving, they would have been trampled, too. It is murder, and they should be charged, but I just wonder about the practicality of the whole thing.

This is just why I avoid black friday, it's become black for a much different reason.

Get rid of it!

Dont say its tradition...someone died last year as well due to Black Friday. Just go to JCPenney's, it's black friday everyday!

Its pretty sad when he's put there with no experience in crowd controll, but rather because he's a big man. :/ Also, gotta love the fact that the mob broke down an electric door to rush in what, 10 minutes early (not sure actually)? Thats freaking stupid. Sorry, the mercendise (who needs THREE palsma screen tvs???) isn't going anywhere and this man's death is absolutely rediculous. Its like when people go 90 on the highway instead of 75-80. Seriously, those extra 15 minutes you save (while wasting alot more gas) to go home and watch tv are NOT worth the risk of killing someone. :/ I think the point here is that Wal-Mart is evil....duh.

for the last 2 years i have participated in Buy Nothing Day instead. it's an international protest against corporate greed, american consumerism, and the loss of the holidays (christmas & thanksgiving) to the shopping cart. news like this doesn't help me want to participate in a standard christmas.

this year i finally had the courage to tell my family (and back it up) that i do not desire to give/receive presents on christmas. i will still participate with the family, but i am not buying anything, and do not want anything purchased for me. i used to just ask that my family purchased none of my presents at wal-mart (more protest), but few honored my wishes.

i also noticed that this year meijer (regional department store) started with a special sale on thanksgiving day, at 6 am. that is pretty broken.

i don't force my beliefs on anyone else, and i don't even bring it up much, as people give me some odd looks when i answer that i do not participate in christmas. i will acknowledge my role in tragedies like this. someone asked who is responsible. we all are. i jsut ask that this christmas, ask yourself what benefit you take from the holidays. most of the people that i know get stressed out, spend too much, and forget the real focus of the holidays. find some peace this year.
