Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Washington City Championships 2012

Points Awarded at CC Tukwila

Per E-mail from Pete at Corporate, points should now have been awarded. Missed computer entry prevented points from being isseued. Corporate should have this problem fixed by the first week in January.

Sincerely, Jim

Good Day for the Anderson

Sarah went 3-1 in swiss and top cut taking 2nd place (and finaly got over 10 championship points and earned her one nights stay at The Great Wolf Lodge)

Penny went 3-3 (getting donked T2 by Zane one game) I went 4-2 in swiss (did win game one becuase of a bye) And after bubeling 3 tourneys in Cities Durnat finaly made top cut. I won my T8 vs Charlie 2-0 (still not sure how I managed to pull that off) and took Zane to game 3 Sudden death match, but I started wtih a lone durrant and a twins and he got a Juniper and was able to set up and KO me before I could do much, He did give the the opportunity to donk his babay, but I did not top deck the Double colorelss. So I made T4

Good matches Zane it was fun.

all i have to say about yesterday at lakewood, is that something fishy happened. i remember people saying my opponent had 3 prizes to take to win.

but somehow, when he knocked ONE of my pokemon in time, he tied it up. took one more to win? 2 =/= 3....

i live by integrity, all i hope is he does the same. i wont mention names. but people who were watching should remember that match.

How many prizes did you take that game? Did your oppoent need to take 3 prized to time the game or 3 prizes to take all 6 prize cards?

when time was called, my opponent had 5 prize cards left, i had 3. so he needed to take 3 to beat me. time was called on me. so him =1, me = 2, him again =3. now, on turn 3, he KOd ONE of my pokemon putting him at 4. but yet, during some type of confusion, he somehow managed to get down to 3 prize cards to tie it to sudden death instead of 4. i did not notice it until AFTER the match ended when a friend who will remain anonymous mentioned it to me.

now granted, it was my fault for not paying attention more, but i am greatly insulted at the fact that someone of his caliber would do what he did.

EVERYONE watching kept saying and speaking of how he needed to take 3 prizes to beat me. and SOMEHOW by knocking out ONE, he got down to 4. and beat me in sudden death because he magically set himself at 3 for a tie.

A little logic narrows it down easy if you know who faced who in the top 8, and confirming the screen names attached to various people. Obviously he cannot be referring to people in Seniors or Juniors considering his occupation makes it impossible to be in the army under age 17. It also can't be a game that ended early, so Zane and his opponent are out, and it cannot be Ross or Michael for the same reason. If you're talking to Jeff about the incident the culprit cannot be Jeff or his opponent in top 8. I'll leave out the last bit of evidence, so it narrows down the accused to two people.

I think he's just referring to a swiss game.

Darn. That's all I can say.

That is good, I know most of the people who top cut on Sunday, and I would have hated to think that one of them would be a cheater. Good players do not have to stoop to that to win games.
But I have noticed that for some reason this year Cheating seems to be a lot more common place then it has been in the past, I wonder if it is just happenstance, or maybe it is because of the new Championship point system.

Gonna do so from now on. I just hate how there is some dumb rules because of the spirit of the game. An extra draw, replace. Draw an extra prize, what would happen? Place it back get a warning? Boo.

^I don't know for sure what the penalty usually is, but at the LCQ this year, my opponent in top 64 accidentally drew an extra prize, forgetting she hadn't played the PlusPower in her hand and falling 10 short of killing my Phanpy.

It resulted in a prize penalty and almost a game loss, because she made the same mistake in top 128. I opted not to take the prize because it was obviously an accident and her missing the KO was going to virtually guarantee me the win anyway (and she literally begged me not to take it lol), but that's still more significant than a warning.

You're not supposed to know what cards you have prized, so you're gaining private knowledge by drawing a prize you're not supposed to. Whereas you (hopefully) know what cards are in your deck. Or that's my guess about the logic behind it, idk. Apparently the rule makers don't do prize checks.

The TO's running Bellevue and Shane's are Ted and Jim. IDK, who's running Redmond this time, but I think it's Matt Dias. Blue Highway, maybe trevor.

Your going to have a tough time getting permission from Ted and Jim because Tyler tried to get permission from them to record videos of the top cut and they said no.
