Man, it's been a while since I posted a decklist....
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Pokemanz (12)
---------------------------------------------------------------------
3 Mew EX
1 Shaymin EX
2 Drakrai EX
1 Terrakion EX
3 Terrakion (NV)
2 Rayquaza (Drgn. Ex. Shiny)
---------------------------------------------------------------------
T / S / S (32)
---------------------------------------------------------------------
2 N
4 Juniper
3 Cheren
2 Reciever
3 Tool Scrapper
2 Enhanced Hammer
2 Switch
3 Catcher
3 Super Rod
2 Communication
3 Heavy Ball
3 Eviolite
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Energy (16)
---------------------------------------------------------------------
4 Prism
2 DCE
3 Blend :fire::grass::psychic::dark:
7 Fighting

Objective:

This deck's inspiration came from the once-was HoPe deck back in SP - era, as well as a desire to bring diversity to this ever-so bland format (gee, sounds like something I'm always saying in VGC). The strategy: counter the format. It doesn't get much simpler than that. Eels, Dragons, and many other deck popular deck variants may seem hard to counter at one time, but when broken down, a common teambuilding phrase of mine pops into place: "For every common threat, there is a common answer."

ChompTaria:

Rayquaza is my solution here. I can either start with it and KO their starts, as almost everything it needs to set up is 1-2HKO'd by Rayquaza, or easily set up its secondary attack and OHKO opposing Garchomps or Altartias. Copying Chomp's attack with Mew might not be a bad idea, either, since it's a 2HKO on Garchomp anyways.

DarkDreigon

This deck loathes any other with both Dragon and Fighting combined. Terrakion doesn't mind handling Darkrai (especially with free retreat from my own Darkrai), and as for Hydra... I might be in a bit of a bind. Mew could copy Dreigon's attach and OHKO with a PlusPower (which I don't have), but at the cost of two Prism / Blend Energy. Rayquaza could OHKO Dreigon, but that's assuming Catcher doesn't take it out first. My best option is Terrakion EX, which survives 2 of Dreigon's attacks and still 2HKO's it. Either that or I sweep late game with Shaymin EX.

Eels

In most cases, it's either ZekEels or RaikouEels. In those cases, Terrakion does splendidly. Okay, so you KO'd one of my regular Tarrakions. Retaliate for the KO (with the exception to if the target has Eviolite). QuazaEels is a different story. So again, Shiny Rayquaza can OHKO Rayquaza EX with its secondary attack, but outside of that, I might end up discarding countless energy via Mew EX copying Rayquaza EXs attack.

TerraPoleon

With Mew EX, I can completely laugh at this deck. The most Empoleon can do is 120 with everyone at a full bench. That is a 2HKO on just about everything in this deck (bar non-Eviolite equipped Sharmin EX). Terrakion (EX and regular) and Darkrai land a good 2HKO on it, and if everyone is at a full bench, Mew will do just the same by copying Empoleon's attack. Terrakion may seem like another threat, but by keeping a Shaymin in the reserves, said issue is quickly resolved.

Okay, I might be missing one or two deck variants, so if I am, please tell me. Otherwise, have at it!

With some pointers from another member on a different forum site (I have this decklist posted on another forum as well), it was brought to attention that Garbodor variants would be nightmarish. I am currently deciding on dropping Crushing Hammers for Tool Scrapper (which will make things a little easier), but I;m unsure about the decision. Any other opinions here?

What about Eel/Registeel?
How do you plan on powering up Rayquaza's 2nd attack in time for those dragon matchups?

First off the supporter lines look a bit awkward, but maybe that's just how it looks on paper, how do you find yourself drawing in actual games?

If it's a deck to counter the format it does need those Tool Scrappers
Other cards I'd consider would be Sableye and possibly energy switch, seeing as you can abuse them both.

Looks good though.

EelSteel? What is this, I don't even.... Hmm, this is a bit of a problem.

What about Virizion to KO Terrakion/Terrakion EX? Does no 1 use that at all? 'xD

Yes, I spose' that is also a problem.

I'm actually changing the supporter line a bit. Also, I was thinking about Sableye and Energy Switch, but I was unsure of where to find the room.

Okay, time for an OP update:

-3 Crushing Hammer
-2 Bianca

Total: 5

+3 Tool Scrapper
+2 Cheren
------------------------------------------------------------
So it seems anything with Virizon and/or Registeel is a problem. Arright, time to find a Fire type to fit the deck.

EDIT: Entei EX is tempting....

Is entei ex really worth the drop in consistency to KO 2 basics you can normally 2HKO?

I'm not saying it's bad, try it out I'm genuinely curious to see how well it works.

Registeel EX will be a complete pain. I can see Protect Charge being a potential problem, dropping 30 damage done to it, with a total of 50 with Eviolite. Virizion might be a simpler threat, but Steel is a huge problem. Maybe only one Entei?

I don't see many people using its second attack honestly, the first attack is its major selling point. Unless they're using it in Klinklang which will be less common.

Please do if PTCGO decides to work again. If it is, please tell me, since to be honest, I've never actually used PTCGO and would love to test this deck out.

if your worried about registeel maby you could play around with the energys and add in a hoho ex. its an interesting card that i havent seen played much but it can do some serious damage with energy serches. its attack cost 3 colorless and dose 20+ 20 for every different energy attached to it. fire type so registeel isnt a problem.

I read a lot of the original HoPe reports and discussed the deck with some local friends. The premise was to correctly guess the metagame and abuse SP's ability to play a radically different strategy just by swapping out 3-4 cards. By building a very consistent engine for building up ANY SP Pokemon, and just changing which ones you played every tournament based on what you expected to see, you could trump every deck that you saw.

But you couldn't trump every deck, period.

You could build a list with EXs today that does this, and what you have here is a good start. I just wanted to post my thoughts, so that you don't try to fit 20 attackers into a deck that really should only be running a few specific, well-chosen ones.

Hmm... Well said. The whole "oh no Steel' EX is going to be a problem better add a Fire type" was narrow minded, since at that point, this deck would turn into a crapload of attackers. An engine.... I wonder how I could fit one in, if it's even possible (unless I blindingly already have one).

I'm not letting this thread die so easily. In the meantime while waiting for the PTCGO to be back, is there any more advice for the deck?

I could see a more streamlined version of the deck doing well when the meta develops. I could see you playing Mew EX with Thunderus and other Techs. You try and start out with Mew, and use Charge with Thunderus, preferably attaching a Prism then charge for the lightning, and then attach a Fighting Energy drop terrakion and landcrush turn 2. You would run a singleton of Darkrai for Prism free retreat. Using Lightning and Prism you can use Rayquaza's second attack, thus putting the Garchomp matchup in your favor. Here's a list off the top of my head with zero testing.

3 Mew EX
2 Terrakion
2 Thunderus
1 Rayquaza Shiny
1 Stunfisk
1 Darkrai EX
1 Shaymin EX
=11

4 Lightning
4 Prism
4 Fighting
=12

4 Catcher
4 Switch
4 Juniper
4 N
4 Cheren
3 Ultra Ball
3 Exp Share
3 Eviolite
2 Energy Search
2 Energy Switch
2 Tool Scrapper
1 Super Rod
1 Skyarrow
=37

11+12+37=60

Energy Search is because you're playing a low amount of energy and, when you need to retaliate you NEED to retaliate. Deck copes with Mewtwo by Versatile using Retaliate, possible with Exp Share. Also can use Diaster Volt followed by a Retaliate / Land Crush. etc

Without the metagame being developed, HoPe decks are less efficent. This looks okay, but without a developed meta, you don't really know what you are countering. I would make it more streamlined, more like Nugget's list (in terms of streamlinedness, not necessarily attackers), and when the metagame develops test against it a lot.
