What's better than a Custom Avatar Day? A Custom Avatar Weekend! In honor of Prime & P_A's birthdays, from Friday, October 3rd, 9PM PDT to Sunday, October 5th 9PM PDT, members will be able to upload a custom avatar.

There will be another avatar contest, winners will be decided by the members this time. Anyone who uploads their own new custom avatar will be eligible, as long as that avatar meets the requirements.

To vote on which avatar you think should win the contest, rate one and only one avatar with a 5 in the gallery. Sock puppets used in the contest votes will be banned and those votes invalidated, rating multiple avatars will invalidate all votes for that member, PMing bulbasnore to fix it when you rate multiple avatars will be a 7 day ban (no infraction) :tongue:.

What are Sock Puppets?

I know what they are, but I don't get what it means in the Avatar Contest.

EDIT: And to what section do you upload your Avatar Entry to?
 
Unfortunately, in the past during contests, some members have created multiple accounts for the purpose of voting for their own entries or a friends.

Usually, sock puppets and the main account are all combined to the main and then banned. Serious problems can lead to IP bans.
 
Alright cool, I put my new avatar up. But do they just automatically show up in the gallery to be entered into the contest?

I don't see anything in the FAQs mentioning it.
 
The gallery for the Avatar Contest is not open yet. It will not open until the Custom Avatar weekend has ended.

More will be announced on the contest early next week.

When will we be able to vote, and where in the gallery will it be? Also how long will the voting be open?
 
This is great info.
Everyone make sure you look over all the avatars to make sure you vote for the only you really want, instead of voting for one then finding a better one after.

After any problem avatars are purged - fancy word for deleted, the gallery will be opened.
