Weezing RR Why are people not playing with it?

Soon as I got this card at the prerelease and I read what it does, I wanted to make a deck with it.

Weezing's first attack for 1 energy lets you count the nunber of counters on him and put that many on the defending pokemon and Weezing becomes confused. His pokebody says that if it is confused and is knocked out your opponent can't take a prize card.

All I have to do is let it get damaged a little bit, then use his Damage Breakdown attack and confuse him. The rest is history. With the right support cards backing it up, I think it would be a good strategy to try out.

I am also aware that Dialga G LVX stops his body, but of course I will have a tech to deal with it.

I want to know why people aren't trying this card out. I also want to know if it can be the main attacker or just a backup pokemon.

Discuss.

I can't see building a deck out of Weezing RR, but it is an interesting tech. Add in something to drop damage on your Weezing (Unown P, Cressalia X, etc.) and it becomes a near-costless sacrifice against a lot of opponents that you need stall time to deal with.

And, you might even be able to tech it into decks like Regigigas that could then Sacrifice Weezing as acceleration/healing.

But, as a deck of its own, it does too little damage and has too little HP to hold up for any reasonable length of time.

You can't sacrifice weezing because it has to be active to be confused and it has to be on the bench to be sacrificed

EDIT:

Whoops guess i don't know what regi does

I can see Weezing being used as a sacrifice while you stall, but I have a feeling it's PokeBody should read:

"If Weezing is Confused and is Knocked Out BY YOUR OPPONENT, your opponent can't take a Prize card."

Otherwise, it seems a little broken, and one heck of a stall.

 A little broken..... that's why I like it.

I reeeally like the concept of Weezing, but it gets shut down by a few things. I'm glad someone made a topic about this, I was actually thinking about it. I wanna hear people's opinion on it and how to fix the problems.

Really, the format just isn't really friendly for Weezing. SP decks in general just give it problems, the most obvious one being Dialga G Lv. X. It shuts down it's Body, thus destroying the concept of the card, leaving just an 80 HP Pokemon with a Flail-like attack, which isn't all that great. Unown G just completely stops it, and almost every deck is running one, especially SP. Many also run Toxicroak, which not only has a built in Unown G but also hits Weezing's weakness. I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure you don't get to confuse Weezing if you don't place any damage counters. So without its Poke-Body or its Damage Breakdown attack... you're left with Smog. Weezing gets pretty useless around then. Also notice that it can be switched out by an attack (Which can KO it and score a prize I think), or your opponent may switch it via Power or Trainer (Also don't forget Cyclone Energy). Sleep inducing and Paralyze causing attacks also override the Body, so be if your opponent gets rid of it with an attack you're screwed.

Now if you can somehow get around all of this, maybe it'd be decent. I mean, it's an amazing card in theory. The concept of the game is to draw all of your prizes before your opponent does. So obviously you win if your opponent draws NONE. You just need a way to constantly keep it in play, which isn't hard via Night Maintenance, Pokemon Rescue, and/or TSD. I hardly think you'll need all of that anyways though.

So, just a brief rundown of problems:

Dialga G shuts off it's Body:

Need to find a way around Dialga G. Either an SP deck counter (Machamp), or a Dialga G counter (Flygon Lv. X). However, the Dialga G player should already have Unown G on the field and Flygon Lv. X really doesn't fit in the deck. So if anyone has any ideas, post 'em... because people have been trying to find ways around Dialga G ever since it came out.

Toxicroak G/Unown G:

I'd be fine with these being the only problems, really. If I Warp Point and place damage counters on the bench, I still confuse myself... so I still give no prizes. Still, double Unown G creates problems for the card. Not many decks play 2, but it IS and issue. Best solution would hafta be high Warp Points and the like.

Switching effects (Warp Points, etc):

What do you do? I mean, decks can only play so many of these cards. Weezing needs something for Warp Point bait, just dunno what.

Sleep/Paralysis attacks:

Really, all I can think of is Unown G. 2 At least in the deck, not that big of a problem, but its there.

^ o.o That's a killer concept. Sac a Weezing and heal Regigigas, you'd literally have it up forever unless you take a OHKO.

I like the idea, but is there a way to confuse Weezing without attacking? Because the same problems present themselves, if you can't Sac it the following turn. So, either way the list of problems are still... a list of problems lol.

At the Lacey Battle Road, some kid I saw was playing Weezing and Xatu. I was interested.

I think it's a nice card. I would do a deck but I just think of something ruining him..

What's the magic ingredient to continuously auto-confuse Weezings? High TSD/rescue count would be important, since Weezing still goes to the discard pile if you flip tails. You also need some way to effectively deal with Dialga.. Fire attacker?

I'm very tempted to make a deck based on Weezing. Obviously, it would be a stall deck with the primary objective of decking the opponent. I can see it being used to stall while you build up another Pokemon, but outside these two scenarios, IDK if it can stand it's ground long.

It is nice, however if you change the special condition (sleep or paralyze) with poison. The body doesn't work and a prize will be taken.
