What are Battle Roads?

I have only been playing since Cities, so I have never experienced a Battle Road before. Could someone please explain to me what Battle Roads are, whether on a local or larger map scale, when they are, and prizes and such? Sorry if this is in the wrong place, if so could a mod please move it?

The smallest Tournament series.
Very local, winner just gets a few boosters and a victory medal (a special promo card), basically no rating points etc.

they are smaller local events in your area, they have a 4k value. They will be coming in May/June or so.

The SAME THING as Cities. Just less people show up.

It's a much more relaxed atmosphere as well..... A fine place for beginners to get their taste of tourney action.... Plus the experienced players usually test different ideas at these before they take their creations "prime time"....
