What beats AMU?!

well its not so much the attacks its the effect one gives them free retreat one i think gets rid of weakness one makes all of your opponents basics need one more energy for every attack one gets rid of powers for a turn and one lets you draw cards. then the lvl x's one does 200 for two energy one lets you draw cards every turn one heals 30 from all your pokemon( there goes the spread idea) and then if they run snowpoin temple you add 20 hp to all basics. its just dumb

if kingdra can do so well against amu, think about how well ifds machamp will do o:

t2 drop only 1 nrg, even if they unown g, 1 for 40 is a LOT, esp if you run pluspowers, that can be a 2HKO
 
you are talking about machamp ifds's drop? well read the fine print. that card pwns AMU so bad. it says, for one energy :

Drop: 40 damage. If the Defending Pokemon isn’t an Evolved Pokemon, instead of doing damage, this attack Knocks Out the Defending Pokemon.
total pwnage. and the level x's dont count as an evolved pokemon!

one drawback, machamp has +30 psychic weakness

Even though AMU will probably die off for a while once IFDS hits, that is a matchup I'm dieing to try out. lol

I would say that its in AMU's favor, given that it takes time to get a champ out, but a t1 Drop could mean GG for AMU. Should be fun to go over that matchup. lol
 
On the topic of Machamp unless it is mistranslated it doesn't say you can choose to do either the damage or effect. So a quick search first turn for an unown G would solve this problem. I don't see this as being an auto win vs AMU at all.

Guys really can't say this or that easily beats AMU. MT uxie slows spread decks in half while being able to healing gaze every other turn, MT azelf makes mewtwo x's attack cost 4 energy and during that time AMU can easily play around him with warp point and azelf x/ts-2, and well played LA mesprit will stop luxray for long enough to counter attack but although I see this as being a difficult match up.

Again you just can't call auto wins, there are match ups in other's favor but AMU has a lot of tricks up it's sleeve if in the hands of a skilled player.

Aerodactly can really hurt AMU!
In my opinion. Think about how much damage Aerodactly would do to all of the Pixies.

Not really. There is nothing that can search out old amber so it's hard to get aero out. Second only uxie lv.x and the normal pixies have powers and the normal ones only work once and none of the powers have to be used. Second 20 damage doesn't do much to amu. Also aero's attack isn't good and the 50% of confusion does nothing because the entie deck has free retreat.
 
AMU is beatable but I'm not really feeling like it just dies horribly outright to most stuff. I like some of the stuff mentioned here as techs, but one I particularly like is Dusknoir. AMU can live without a big bench ... but it really likes to have one if it can. Late game Dusknoir can OHKO a pixie if needed (provided no snowpoint).
 
But for aero to be effective to do that 20 damage you need it out within the first 3-4 turns because they don't need to use the power and they will be using the powers early. Late game unless really desprit they won't use azelfs power past the first few turns and uxies can take the damage maybe and mespit's power won't be used unless it will hurt you and in that case you will probaly lose.
 
@ Aerodactyl: Can't really get it out when you want it via normal searching trainers therefore its hard to be a tech. And if not a tech what deck would use this? I mean sure it would hurt AMU but it would slow any deck down and be only really good against one deck, and if this format is anything its variety.

Its the same with Mewtwo X, its a Psychic pokemon that takes 3 (4 vs AMU) energy to attack then it discards them all after the attack. What deck can it easily fit it in and be able to utilize this attack effectively at all? Leafeon maybe but even then you face Azelf X with that deck.

You can just use Mewtwo MDs 3 for 60 atk. Where does the 4 come from? You dont need to discard for 3 for 60
