It's a remake of Red and Blue, with various new things (presumably this means stuff that was added since Red and Blue). Compatable with Ruby/Sapphire.

It comes with a special cable-less link unit, too. However, the link-up isn't the same technology as the existing cable, and won't be compatable with any older games.

Unless there's something mammoth in it, I won't bother with it. Things have moved on a lot.

Well, I'm in Ireland, which is even more backward when it comes to games releases than the US

I just read about it in a magazine a while ago. Once the news breaks in Japan, most relevant magazines in other areas will cover a story like this.
