Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

What do you think the English translation of Megalo Canon will be called?

At first I was thinking "Genesect" in the tradition of Deoxys and Arceus, but recently I started thinking about how it's still kinda focusing on Team Plasma, so "Plasma Canon" is my new choice.

I also thought of the name Plasma Cannon as Pokemon is going through a stage when they name sets with Plasma Pokemon in it, Plasma something but I think they might spell Cannon instead of Canon.

The name obviously has to be ridiculous sounding. Plasma Cannon isn't ridiculous enough. With ridiculous names like Dragons exalted and Plasma Freeze that don't roll off your tongue, I would say this:

It has to be Plasma Howitzer.

There's also Plasma Mortar.

Wait, Team Rocket, Team Plasma

Rocket Artillery

Plasma Mortar

OMG, Pokemon enemy teams are related to Artillery pieces in Enemy Territory Quake Wars. WOAH.

Next thing you would know is that the next villainous teams are:

Team Rail

Team Dark Matter

Team Artillery

Team Hammer

I was thinking the pattern seems like the DS games. Plasma storm happened at the beginning then plasma Froze opelucid city so maybe next is Plasma Laboratory(next big plasma event in the games and where genesect is created)

Hmm, Plasma Lab. Doesn't roll off the tongue. Yep, this has to be it.

Plasma Genesis sounds like it might fit.

All I could think of now is the slogan "Genesis does what Nintendon't."

In the US, it would be called Plasma Genesis. Because Genesis, Genesect.

In Europe, it would be called Plasma Mega Drive, because Genesect uses Drives.

And why would US and Europe use different name

Megalo Cannon is going to be called Plasma TV, in which you can connect your Plasma Genesis to, or Plasma Mega Drive if you are European, but you need some sort of special cable to convert that coaxial stuff to the composite stuff.

Dude, there's a good joke, then there's beating that joke to death with a rusty spoon. You're doing the latter right now.

...only to those who actually got the joke the first time. It isn't like I repeated the joke a third time... like I do to my brother.

And besides, the focus is on the Plasma TV part, and besides at least I didn't go Plasma CD, Plasma 32X, Plasma Saturn, Plasma Dreamcast, Plasma Master System, Plasma Game Gear, and Plasma Nomad... until now.

Oh, and I believe that Plasma whatever has to be a weather or elemental phenomenon, but it's just anyone's guess.

Plasma Storm
Plasma Freeze

Plasma Eruption? I don't know.

Plasma Why Didn't We Play This Guessing Game For Previous Sets?

Whatever it is, it would be something nobody would expect. I surely didn't expect Boundaries Crossed or Plasma Freeze, as they had nothing to do with their Japanese names.

Still hoping for Plasma Mega Drive

You just can't believe how Genesect and the TCG set that it is based on has so many coincidental references to Super Nintendo's arch nemesis in the 90's. If you don't agree, then why would the Japanese use the word Megalo of all names? Why is that pokemon called Genesect of all names? Why does Genesect use Drives, and not attachments, or add-ons, or ROMs, or some other thing?

All I have to say is, it's a Plasma Conspiracy.
