Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

What Happened to VS Seeker?

I use 2 in my MightyTank, it's one of my favorites. Sometimes it'll be a good minute before I can draw into a Supporter that I need right then and there. It even helps me out early game when I only had 1 Bebe's Search to get out that Claydol after fetching Baltoy with it.

I rarely see 1 in decks. I hardly see any at all. Easier to max your supporters and fill it with a better card. When it was legal before it was rarely played, didn't think it'd be any different the second time around.

My SP Supporter line up is:

4x Roseanne's Research
4x Cyrus's Conspiracy
1x Aaron's Collection
1x Cynthia's Feelings
1x VS Seeker

It really helps when I can use it to extend my Cyrus chain or reuse a tech supporter. I can't really imagine playing more than 1 copy or that it would have much use in many other decks atm.

I've found that VS Seeker can be a brutal dead draw in the early game. That's my take on why people aren't using it. At the same time, it used to be a staple card the first time around... and cards like Night Maintenance are still used.

I think it's just that the ability to recover one Supporter isn't that useful with decks running the engines they are now. Supporters are secondary to cards such as Claydol.

With deck space really tight in most lists, I doubt VS Seeker can really make its way into most of them. I guess it's because most players do not feel the need to re-use their supporters (SPs and decks that have Porygon2 are exceptions) that much in the entirety of the game... The most used Supporters- Roseanne's, Bebe's, and Cyrus's Conspiracy- are usually at a max number to increase the chance of drawing into them and to get more use out of them as the game progresses... VS Seeker is also not searchable and therefore cannot be easily obtained when you need it (Supporters, at the very least, can be searched by Cyrus). Having 1 VS Seeker in a deck is OK but players decide on whether that spot can be occupied by more useful cards and techs (like an extra Uxie, Unown G, Relicanth, Spiritomb, Expert Belt, etc.). In the end, maybe players decide to just run a tech instead of VS Seeker since techs can tilt matchups, in the way that VS Seeker can't.

I don't mind the early game VS Seeker so much ... as long as my opening hand isn't something like VS Seeker, Energy, Energy, Palmer's, Random Stage 2, Different random Stage 2, Basic (that doesn't evolve into either of my Stage 2s). In that case, it is brutal.

However I *love* having Bebe's, Call, and VS Seeker in my opening hand. Your odds of setup are very good in then.

I try to run 1 in every deck ... and would run 2 if I had room.

SPIRITOMB AR happened to it....

I find myself NOT decking Rare Candies, VS Seekers, and Ball engines after playing against practice decks that use Spiritomb.

Your hand gets SO clogged up that cosmic power can't even get you out of the rut!

I think the card is BEAST in any deck running Claydol/Porygon2 draw combo's, but Spiritomb rocked my world man...

That's what got VS seeker away from my builds.

I do the same: 1 a 2 VS seekers can always help in a game.

I love this card in SP decks. With a variety of supporters, 1-2 VS Seeker, 2-1 Uxie and 4 Cyrus's Conspriracy to search them out makes a nice engine.

VS Seeker is great because it solves the problem of picking supporters - Do I want 2 palmers or 4 roseanne's? you dont have to choose anymore, so playing 1 is great in any sp deck or tech heavy deck
