Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

What is the best combo/deck today?

I can agree that Gigas are good, but they are little too easy to counter, so i wouldn't call it BDIF. The deck that you play must fit in your strategy and limits, there is no one BDIF now there is many good cards what to use. (Gigas, Kingdra, AMU, Dusknoir, Gengar)

Dusknoi loses to gigas, raichu, spreaders, or anything that plays g and/or weavile. ;/ Gigas is currently bdif but it is quite beatable.

Raichu? Spreaders? Weavile? Unown G? I believe Gigas but not any of the others. Even against T-Tar I have come ahead with Dusknoir.

An Abomasnow won cities in my area-- well, went 5-0 (I left after the last round). It beat my deck, but it was nice to see a deck i hadnt seen cloned over and over again. I'm pretty new still, maybe Abomasnow was an old clone, but i havent heard anyone talk about it.

I have paired it with Dusknoir. And seen that this combo has done well in other CC as well.

Dusknoir can't do jack against anything with g or anything with energy excel. Weavile gives decks energy excel and weakness. I don't see how dusknoir can beat it, unless the opponet doesn't g it (which would obviously be a misplay). Obama would probably beat chu, but not by alot.

I guess that's why I manage to beat Tortterrible every time when it has Sceptile and Torterra Ged every time. Not to mention they don't lay any other basics done.

Gs don't counter Dusknoir as well as people think. You have to play 3+ if you really want to counter it. Then when you are playing that many you run the risk of starting with them and setting you back a few turns in setting up, energy attachments, consistency. So Gs are far from the answer.

Weavile maybe nasty but again it all depends on what Dusknoir is combed with. A lot of people use Azelf Lv. X to get rid of the weakness, if not that a secondary attack to take blows for Dusknoir, until it comes up ready to hit.

Raichu is a joke. I have yet to see any good Raichu list do well in a good metagame. Sure they may win in nowheresville, IN. But other than that it's not a good deck.

Hey! Nowheresville, IN resents that.

We're not so bad that we would lose to Raichu. We have Lucario in our Lucario/Empoleon DP decks to counter it. =]

Does anyone else get tired of the ..

"Will somebody spoonfeed me a deck so I can play it at a tourney and pose like I build great decks?"

questions....

In my opinion, nearly every deck in the format is counter-able. These 'counters' are also GOOD counters, that can actually effectively defeat the targeted deck, along with some other decks in the format as well, unlike Ban-Bliss last season, which did neither (in my opinion). Regigigas is countered by Machamp and possibly UMA. Machamp is countered by Uxie techs, and many Dusknoir builds. Dusknoir is countered by Magmortar, Luxray, and spread, along with other techs like Weavile. UMA is countered by Dusknoir DP tech, and many Machamp builds. Kingdra is also countered by Regigigas, and some Leafeon variants. This is why there is no 'bdif'. Everything is beatable, and it's not even hard to do it. What defines certain decks in specific tiers, would have to be the number of counters, the effectiveness of the counters, and finally, the speed of the given deck. This is why I believe Kingdra is at the top of the Pokemon tier list.

I'm sorry but you must've played some horrifically bad lists if you can beat torterra with dusknoir/anything, much less dusknoir/obama. G absolutely wrecks dusknoir. As long as you play somethign that energy excels, dusknoir can't do ANYTHING do you, and mostly every deck can counter anything dusknoir can throw at it. Also, most decks run 2-3 gs and have no issues. :/

Azelf only slows the deck down even more (which makes it t4-5 speed. ew), and is easily countereable by blower/palkia. Not the best waste of space/resources getting out.

It's doing very well over here. t3 double chus powered up. GL against that.

then please explain how it's second in winning CCs and making top cut only to donking Kingdra?

it's not a bad torterra list, just some people can't accept facts. I also beat Greg Simon with my CAD list, against his Torterra list. Greg was ranked 27th in Masters in the US before these past CC. I guess Dusknoir does lose to Torterra:rolleyes:. He was playing 2 Gs, and Poke Healer which he did use on his Torterra. I beat him pretty bad, 6-1. He only played 3 supporters, but it was because I was Wagering him at the right times.
