what sets will be banned?

I heard that a new rotation was coming up and before I buy a deck, which sets will be band from tournament play? It would help so much to save money and being cautious thank you for the reply.

The most likely rotations would be Boundaries Crossed-on or Plasma Storm-on. I would think anything from Plasma Freeze onward (Plasma Freeze, Plasma Blast, Legendary Treasures, XY, Flashfire) would be safe to get. If you want to be completely safe, XY and Flasfire are guaranteed to stay in format, since they're so new, though I truly cannot imagine that Legendary Treasures or Plasma Blast would rotate.

I think it would be plasma storm-on, that would be 4 sets rotated, 5 if you include dragon vault

Wait to make any decisions until TPCi officially announces the rotation. They've done weird stuff before, and I wouldn't feel safe making any assumptions.

It should be announced in the next month or so.

If you want to buy stuff now, XY and Flashfire are 100% guaranteed safe for Standard.
They will be starting an official Extended Black & White on format soon, though we'll have to wait and see how popular that turns out to be.

I'm either hoping for Boundaries Crossed-On or a Skyla reprint. Stage 2s are already bad enough so I would hate to see Skyla leaving the format.

There's Korrina in Furious Fists that will replace Skyla in most ways, especially if it's just grabbing Candy from your deck.

There's no reason to believe Extended is actually going to happen. The line that mentioned that format is conveniently gone from the season update.
