Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

What to do in San Diego?

Ummm... definitely go to the gaslamp district and visit Dick's Last Resort. Head over to the Midway USAF Carrier and take that tour. Mission Beach has a lot of stuff to do on the boardwalk. Bye.

Before and after, but also AT worlds oo?
it's been that way at previous worlds, so i don't see any reason why there wouldn't be prereleases at worlds this year as well. but there's not been any official announcement yet...

if you're a lego fan, it's awesome. miniland...los angeles, san francisco, new york, new orleans, las vegas, washington dc...is amazing.

if you're :meh: about legos, then i'd skip it; the rides etc. for the most part are geared towards younger kids...say, -12s. they're still enjoyable, but the coasters etc. are not going to be 'thrill rides' but 'fun for all' rides.

we've had season passes since the park opened 10 years ago. we still enjoy it, though my kids (18 and 14) have pretty much outgrown the ride part.

the attached aquarium (sea life park, separate admission) is definitely geared towards younger kids. if you go there expecting something like the monterey bay aquarium or the birch aquarium at the scripps institute in la jolla, you'll be disappointed.

hope this helps.

There is now, from the Worlds mini-site...
Prerelease tournaments allow players to receive and play with cards from upcoming expansions up to two weeks prior to the official release date of the set. At Worlds, players will have the chance to participate in Pokémon TCG: Platinum--Supreme Victors prerelease tournaments.

Well, do not go and party in Tijuana. It is seriously unsafe now. To give you an idea, the Marines at Camp Pendleton are forbidden to go there, and, personally, if an area is too dangerous for the Marines it definitely is too dangerous for me.

As for attractions, Lego Land, Sea World, and the beach are all good. If you are willing to do day trips, you could visit La Jolla.

A general piece of advice though is to not stay out until like 2am and walk around. SoCal is pretty safe in general, but you can run into tweakers, gang bangers, and just all around sketchy people in the tourist areas after dark.

My sister travels a lot, and, being a fan of Ghost Hunters, takes the ghost tours in all the cities that offer them. She has taken tours in New Orleans, Seattle (including the Underground), Atlanta, San Francisco, and San Diego. It might be fun to look that up when you get there.

I heard the tide pools are supposed to be really cool. They are best early morning. there are some 20 minutes away from the hotel.

There is a cool spot for tide pools by an old kinda landmark lighthouse you can go to the light house look at the rooms go up the stairs and stuff and near the light house they have a bus that takes you down to a nearby place with TONS of tidepools. I think it might be in coronado and I remember doing it as a kid. Does this thing ring a bell to anyone?

Quoted for Importance, Seriously any place you travel finding out the neighborhood should be done ASAP. This really should be tacked on to the OP.
